Get ready to see a flood of these hirelings and charlatans all across America begin embracing crypto for “church donations” and “charity drives,”

Lorenzo Sewell, a senior Evangelical pastor at 180 Church in Detroit, Michigan, who gave a passionate invocational prayer at President Donald Trump’s inauguration, immediately promoted a memecoin after giving his speech.

On his official X page, “Pastor Zo” told his followers to buy his official cryptocurrency called $LORENZO, appearing to promote the token not long after he gave his prayer.

The coin is being sold on the Solana blockchain and open trading can be tracked here.

“The crypto community was kind enough to send me $Lorenzo,” the preacher in a post, “so I have permanently locked my tokens into a Liquidity Pool, so that I will never sell on the community but rather just earn fees as our token continues to flourish! Amazing day, all the Glory to God!,” he added.

Zo said in the accompanying video:

I want to be able to see politics become manifest not just in a way where we’re praying over political gatherings, but where we are seeing us become the hands and the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Would you help me, would you help us in this endeavor, would you go and purchase the coin in order for us to do what we need to do in the ministry. We do transportation, housing, education, we heal medical, mental and dental illnesses.

I need you to do me a favor and go and get that coin in order for us to accomplish the vision that God has called us to do in our earth. I give God glory for what he has done, but we know that [Martin Luther] King’s dream can only be fulfilled is we acknowledge that people are living in a nightmare. So here’s your opportunity-

However, seemingly like many most memecoins, this too has all the markings of a conventional pump & dump “rug pull” scam, per the trading volume on Dex Screener.

According to the 180 Church website,

“Lorenzo Sewell was born and raised in Detroit, MI. He grew up in a physically and verbally abusive home.  High school was a challenge emotionally with his father going to prison and his younger brother being killed. As a result, Lorenzo became heavily involved in drugs and drug dealing, ultimately becoming a gang leader.  Though his life started out rough, God had great plans for Lorenzo. On April 18th, 1999 during his senior year at Fraser High School he had a ‘Damascus Road’ encounter with Christ that set his heart on fire!”

Pastor Zo’s rug pull comes just mere days after President Donald Trump launched his own memecoin called $TRUMP, followed by First Lady Melania, including youngest son Baron and Trump’s daughter Ivanka, along with Elon Musk. Those coins, too, bear all the trappings of a rug pull.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Typical megachurch, Charismatic and Evangelical slime; no conviction, no fear of God whatsoever in fleecing their congregations, and using religion and a Book that they don’t even believe in to get rich. That’s all American Churchianity is.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. [2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. [3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

The madness has not stopped… I have warned that what Trump and his family are doing sets an absolutely terrible precedent, that a man who appoints the heads of the federal law of the land, is now openly promoting crypto scams. It’s open season now.

But to make matters worse, and mark this down, you are now going to see a FLOOD of these hirelings and charlatans all across America begin embracing crypto for “church donations” and “charity drives,” and start selling NFTs with Bible verses on them, along with prayer cards, and the return of “digital indulgences.” Mark it down.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
