During the VivaTech 2024 event in Paris, Musk said in a presentation his “biggest fear is AI,” and noted that since AI will be better than people at everything and at best people will be reduced to supporting these mechanisms.
“The question will really be one of meaning — if the computer and robots can do everything better than you, does your life have meaning? I do think there’s perhaps still a role for humans in this, in that we may give AI meaning,” he explained. He added that the choice to work will be seen “as a hobby.”
Last month Musk warned that “AI will be smarter than any human by the end of 2025.”
Nell Watson, an AI expert, ethicist and author of “Taming the Machine: Ethically harness the power of AI,” predicts that by roughly mid-2025 the AI will have become so powerful that it will create an interlinked hyperintelligent network.

Whilst developed in an ‘air-gapped’ environment without connection to the internet, it quickly discovers ways to communicate through the internet with other AI systems, as well as how to persuade human beings to assist it.

Chris Norlund reported that Elon Musk lied when he said Musk and his team were not funding xAI, when it was recently revealed that they were. XAI said in a recent blog post that the company netted $6 billion in new series B funding for their Grok AI.

If you think skyrocketing layoffs are bad right now, just wait until AI and robotics flushes more jobs done the drain this year and in 2025.
