Majed Sultan Al-Mismar, director general of the Communications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, said at the UAE Digital Readiness Retreat that 5 million digital IDs have been registered, with roughly 15,000 public services have since been digitized on the government portal U.ae.
Biometric Update explained:
Al-Mismar highlighted the significance of government integration in achieving a system he feels is superior and pioneering. Now, the data should be combined from other available sources under a unified strategy for service innovation and improvement.
Al-Mismar said says that 99 percent of the population uses the internet, with over 10 million people having active social media accounts.
He also highlighted the success of the UAE Pass digital identity in supporting a growing digital ecosystem. The digital ID provides verification, digital signatures and biometric identification.
Moreover, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education, said in a recent statement that the Ministry of Education launched the service of automatic certification of university certificates issued within the country, tied to the digital ID.
[The automatic launch of the service] comes in line with the objectives of the digital government and the ministry’s strategy aimed at developing the higher education system to be a contributing factor in building a knowledge society with global competitiveness.
[The Ministry’s endeavor] to employ the best modern technologies to bring about a quantum leap in the level and efficiency of the services we provide to our students, as they are the cornerstone for continuing the comprehensive and sustainable development process.
Al Falasi said
All the certified college degrees will be made available via the national blockchain platform UAE PASS, in cooperation with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

I’m mentioning this because many Eastern counties like the UAE, along with many in the West slowly picking up the rear, are pushing for or already have implemented a digital ID – IDs that were rocketed to the forefront because of The Covid War and all the draconian and “new normal” nonsense that was wrought.
The push for an all-in-one digital ID will continue this to persist and accelerate.
Before the mark of the beast arrives these will be another necessary brick to be laid.
