New Poll Shows Almost Three-Quarters Of Americans Have Never Heard Of A CBDC

The WinePress acknowledged this survey but did not cover these specific datapoints in a June 7th report, which examined the large number of Gen-Z’ers who say they are fine with “Big Brother” and the government openly spying and surveilling their living space.

The survey asked 2,000 Americans series of 40 questions related to CBDCs and surveillance, and the results found that most Americans, like most things, are unaware of what a CBDC actually is and how it would impact their lives.

48% of the respondents stated that “they never heard” of CBDCs and 24% replied they are “not very familiar” when asked if they knew anything about the concept of digital currencies issued by a central bank, bringing the total to 72%.

Moreover, the majority of participants answered they “neither support nor oppose/ don’t know” if they would support the Federal Reserve’s plan to introduce a digital dollar, at 49%. But Cato’s headline per its press release highlighted that only 16% would give “total support.”

As a matter of fact, the support for a CBDC increases if the virtual currencies helped to better facilitate certain transactions and payments.

40% say they would support the Federal Reserve if “government could ensure welfare payments were spent on their intended purpose, such as to buy food;” 42% of the people say if “it reduced the risk of money laundering and fraud;” and 32% support a digital currency if “it helps the Federal Reserve combat economic recessions.”

On the flipside, respondents reacted negatively when they were asked if things like cash were outright eliminated or if they perception of personal liberty was taken away.

• 74% of those surveyed answered that they “oppose” a CBDC if it means that the “government could control what people spend their money on and when”;
• 68% of the respondents are against a digital currency if it leads to “the government abolishing all U.S. cash, so no one could use dollar bills”;
• 64% would oppose if a CBDC would allow the government to “charge a tax on those who don’t spend money during recessions”;
• 59% are against the new technology if it gives the government power to “freeze the digital bank accounts of political protesters”.

Unsurprisingly, in typical American ignorance and arrogance, the masses are totally in the dark, but would more readily accept one if they was free money attached or the perceived benefits that it would help the economy.

Interestingly enough, though the data is conflated, this 72% of the unsure and unfamiliar camps seem to run parrel to the number of people who voluntarily got vaccinated within the last few years.

As far as I am concerned, the unenlightened are the same people who will accept this CBDC when the time is right and are made desperate, and if a bit threatening from the government is deployed.
