This article was first published on August 7th, 2022. New information has been added.
Head and sole proprietor of InfoWars Alex Jones has been ordered to pay almost $50 million in damages to prosecuting families whose children died during the infamous Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, in late-December 2012.
Jones and others from InfoWars staffers, such as host Owen Shroyer, were called to the stand after years of repeatedly making the claim that the shooting and deaths of 20 elementary school children were not true, and falsified and doctored evidence was published in the media, in an attempt by the feds to impose heavy guns laws and bans. Jones originally had asserted that the shooting was a ‘false-flag operation’ carried out intentionally by the government, but then later evolved into stating that the shooting in its entirety was a fable.
Jones had already been served and had lawsuits filed against him as far back as 2018. In 2019 Jones then changed his tune by acknowledged that these children were not child actors, and did in fact die.
And I, myself, have almost had like a form of psychosis back in the past where I basically thought everything was staged, even though I’ve now learned a lot of times things aren’t staged. So I think as a pundit, someone giving an opinion, that, you know, my opinions have been wrong, but they were never wrong consciously to hurt people.
So long before these lawsuits I said that in the past I thought everything was a conspiracy and I would kind of get into that mass group think of the communities that were out saying that. And so now I see that it’s more in the middle… so that’s where I stand.
Jones said in 2019
On Thursday, August 4th, Jones was ordered to pay $4.1 million in damages to the parents of the shooting. The parents were seeking around $150 million, but were initially awarded a lot less than that. On Friday, the following day, the judge and jury tacked on another $45.2 million in punitive damages as an added punishment and deterrent ‘for reckless, negligent or outrageous behavior or to deter future bad acts,’ The Texas Tribune wrote.
I am asking you to take the bullhorn away from Alex Jones and all of the others who believe they can profit off of fear and misinformation. The gold rush of fear and misinformation must end, and it must end today.
Wesley Ball, attorney for the parents, stated to the jury
During closing arguments on Friday, Jones’ attorney Andino Reynal said that the $4.1 million awarded to some of the parents ‘amounts to $14,000 per hour of Sandy Hook coverage that Infowars aired.’
You’ve already sent a message. A message for the first time to a talk show host, to all talk show hosts, that their standard of care has to change.
Reynal said, and instead said the jury should award $270,000 in punitive damages
The Texas Tribune noted that, ‘lately, financial pressures, partly caused by lawsuits from Sandy Hook parents, have tested his media empire. His companies have filed for bankruptcy multiple times in recent months, including most recently during the defamation trial. He faces two more trials scheduled for this year over his Sandy Hook disinformation — one in Texas and one in Connecticut.’
UPDATE – 8/8 Jones May Not Have To Pay As Much As First Touted
Today it was revealed that Jones may only have to pay up to 10% of the $45.2 million in punitive damages, legal executives told Reuters.
Jones’ attorney Reynal said he expects the punitive award to be dropped to $1.5 million, according to The New York Times.
They’re not going to collect it all – no way.
Texas defamation lawyer Chuck Sanders explained
Reuters explained:
While juries have broad discretion on awards, Texas law caps punitive damages at $750,000 when economic losses are not involved, as in this case.
Mark Bankston, an attorney for the parents, told Reuters by email that because Jones and his company face three claims each, he estimates the cap would be $4.5 million. Bankston said he will argue the damages cap does not apply but declined to elaborate.
Judge Maya Guerra Gamble must approve the final amount, a decision that is expected soon.
The initial number will still be a lasting deterrent to spreading misinformation if the verdict is cut significantly, Sanders said.
Even if the parents can convince Judge Gamble that the cap should not apply, Texas Supreme Court precedent holds that the ratio of punitive to compensatory damages should rarely exceed four-to-one. The jury’s verdict in this case represents an 11-to-1 ratio.
In reaching their decision, the Texas justices cited a 2003 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, which said that the ratio of punitive to compensatory damages should only exceed single digits in rare cases.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
Ohhhh, my oh my: what a dog & pony show we have here!? I’ll get into some of the court proceedings in a moment, but, I have had people ask me what I think of the whole Sandy Hook ordeal as a whole, so I’ll answer that first.
To preface, it has been a very longtime since I have looked into this ordeal, and I simply do not have the time to look at the whole ordeal. That being said, there is no question in mind that those children died. The narrative is that the 20-year-old shooter had developed a slew of mental disabilities, and had access to guns per her grandmother who was a gun enthusiast, and taught him how to shoot. The deaths were real, but, as we all know, there is so much red tape surrounding this I am not going to make a proper judgment on things surrounding it. Was the shooter a government plant and “took one for the team?” I am doubtful, but I don’t know; but the media, as we know, takes these things and runs with it: that I do know, and they can take unscripted events and turn it into one (just as Kyle Rittenhouse).
[4] Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words. [5] For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes: [6] Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law. [7] But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands, [8] Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him. [9] And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.Acts 24:4-9
As for these court proceedings, I’d call it a stacked deck against Jones, if Jones were not controlled opposition himself. Jones has been in the back pocket of the government for a very long time. He will tell you truths mixed with total lies. When Trump announced his presidency, Jones, who had for years exposed the right-left paradigm lie (though still pushed nonsense and would not dare touch on the criminality of the Jesuits and Rome, and propped up hate-preachers like Steven Anderson for years), threw all of that away and went full-on Qanon and Trump being the savior.
You can read more on that here:
Alex Jones Stages Publicity Stunt At The Border
In 2017 his own attorney said that he is a “performance actor,” all the rhetoric he does is him playing a character. Everything he does is to get the attention of the media, and the media, by design feeds right back into it, thereby dividing the people. It’s the Hegelian Dialectic.
The Great Reset Versus The Great Awakening: Fighting For The Same Team
So, this whole thing was a joke from the start.
As for everything else, the judge and jury was extremely prejudiced biased to the uttermost, and had already determined their ruling before the trial started, based on the clips I saw. Everything else was and is just a formality.
If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.
Ecclesiastes 5:8
I am not the only ones saying this, as others like Hugo Talks and Brian Young from High Impact Flix (Grease Monkey Videos) also picked up on this very quickly.
At one point during the proceedings Jones was actually shilling his supplements! Young wrote, ‘Alex Jones and his lawyer hilariously take an opportunity to plug his product line during court proceedings. Later it was revealed (through Jones’ sales forms) that from Sept. 2015 to December 2018 Infowars grossed $165 Million in sales. During the trial Jones also expressed that his company is now bankrupt. Later, the judge instructed Jones to stop saying he’s bankrupt on the stand.’
And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.
2 Samuel 15:31
It’s a clown show. It’s another Johnny Depp-Amber Heard show to distract the public, and divide them; and indirectly take another jab at free speech (not that I support Jones), by setting forth a precedent that if you say something that goes against the narrative, you could be forced to testify and canceled for “hate crimes.” Now you have the media gaslighting as to what this means for the future of the 1st Amendment, claiming that making statements that Covid is fake is protected, but defaming people specifically is not protected. And slander, defamation, and doxing certainly are real crimes, but we know in the U.S.S.A that judgment and truth has been eradicated at this point, so it’s a toss-up. Special interests are protected, but we the serfs get squashed.
Jones has been the media’s whipping post for a long time. They use him to test out what they later rollout against the masses. It’s all theater; and that’s why Jones is only being forced to pay radically less than what was asked for, as Jones earns plenty of money on the table, and off the books too.
UPDATE 8/8: In light of this new information, it only further validates what I originally surmised about what Jones has to pay. People such as him will be protected, for the reasons I have previously stated.
Imagine if I and The WinePress were on trial: you think my proceedings would get all this attention?
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
The WinePress needs your support! If God has laid it on your heart to want to contribute, please prayerfully consider donating to this ministry. If you cannot gift a monetary donation, then please donate your fervent prayers to keep this ministry going! Thank you and may God bless you.

(In the very unfortunate, few times in the past that I’ve chanced upon his Infowars show.) Even Jones’ voice when he speaks sounds made-up. Very irritating. Like a chainsaw through rocks.
Alex Jones is controlled opposition I believe, he’s just another flame to ignite the right.
You and the Wine Press being on court? God forbid! I didn’t go to law school but God please be with me, I’ll be fighting to the death for you, and Bryan, Anthony, everybody and more importantly more powerful than me or Bryan or any of us: Jesus!
But I don’t think that’ll happen because you’re not “famous.” Don’t feel bad Jacob, being famous isn’t all roses and tulips.
Speaking of famous: 2022 has been a bad year for celebrities. Celebrities dropping dead left and right (and I’m betting my last dollar that the death jabs are the main culprit.)

They are saying Naomi Judd committed suicide by self inflicted gun shot wound. Dunno if this is true due to the media nowadays though.
True. Did she take the jab? It’s 50/50; but then again, I have heard of somebody who was normally happy and cheerful and lived normally and healthy but after getting the jab and no other outside forces, he or she became suicidal.
He has vasculitis which also impaired his hearing and sight, thanks to the jib jab.
Also, Toby Keith, that country music drunkard fool, he’s getting his just desserts now – he has stomach cancer.
I HATE COUNTRY MUSIC!!! Country music is just as wicked as rock music or rap music – in fact I think country music is worse because in one song they’ll profess to be christians and act all patriotic and sing about Jesus and then in another song, they’re singing about getting drunk, beer and more beer, fornicating, honky tonking and so on. It’s utter sheer hypocrisy. Country music is a terrible rock band with a banjo and a fiddle.
Country music is the song of fools.
It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.” —Ecclesiastes 7:5
Is it just me, or does a lot of country music sound similar to CCM? I think both sound depressing, to be honest! I do like bluegrass music, though!
I unfortunately had to grow up listening to country music. I know what you mean. You are 100 percent right describing it.
No idea if she did or not.
Wow did not know that.
Did you hear about how apparently Ashton Kutcher went blind at one point two years ago? He had other symptoms that are from the jib jab but they never mentioned that in the article if he took it or not.
Say what? Nah, I didn’t hear about that! Lemme look it up, Samantha!
