Vacuum company Dyson has been quietly developing new robots that replace humans in doing basic household chores like cleaning and doing dishes.

‘The company didn’t detail any of the models in particularly, but many look like regular robot arms adapted to do specialized home chores like cleaning and tidying. One appeared to be designed to vacuum out the seat cushions, mapping an armchair out in detail to do the job,’ Engadet wrote.

The prototype robots could be seen cleaning and placing dishes in a drying rack, with another robot picking up toys off the floor.

The company showcased their “Perception Lab” technology, a robotic visions system that can scan its environment, map in people, and other cameras with thermal censors.

What you’re developing counts an awful lot in terms of excitement and attracting engineers. One thing about robots, as with wearables, is that they are the future of Dyson.

A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

Proverbs 19:24, 21:25

As discussed in The WinePress report “Agenda 2030: You’ll Own Nothing And Be Happy,” the World Economic Forum wrote these words that are now coming to pass:

When AI and robots took over so much of our work, we suddenly had time to eat well, sleep well and spend time with other people. The concept of rush hour makes no sense anymore, since the work that we do can be done at any time. I don’t really know if I would call it work anymore. It is more like thinking-time, creation-time and development-time.

For a while, everything was turned into entertainment and people did not want to bother themselves with difficult issues. It was only at the last minute that we found out how to use all these new technologies for better purposes than just killing time.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • Rosie the robot in real life, but it’s not the innovative mindset which might’ve been had back in the 60s or so, now it’s “we’re scared, robots are replacing working people and they could spy and collect data on us!”

  • I’m old enough to have realized that the more ‘time-saving’ mechanical & robotic ‘help’ that we get….the more the masters demand of us that fills up that ‘free’ time…. while the stuff never works as advertised, has a short life span etc, etc, etc ……ends up costing more than realized. They end up being life stealers…little non-smart botvac’s as far as I’m going. And, the way things are going, as we work to find ways to make do or do without…the carpet’s probably going when & if that happens. I’ll seal & paint the floor, and maybe stencil, & go back to bare floor for coolness & rolled place rugs for warmth in winter. We can sweep with a broom & cloth mops.

Just ordered some of those outdoor solar string lights that folks have been using for inside lighting, putting solar panel in window…for cutting back; and a ‘fish cleaning table’ with faucet for my outside laundry set-up….also handy for cleaning fish, processing poultry or rabbit if it comes to that. Working on some small-time water catchments with that.

Ordered some inexpensive Storey Country Wisdom booklets, including one on making braided rugs…and you can still get a LOT of cheap cloth in used clothing, resell shops. I just picked up a HEAVY solid wood coffee table for a quail hutch base, and 2 complete solid wood bedframes with head & footboards for lumber & fencing for under $25 at a Mennonite Harvest Thrift. Insane.
Saw a narrow solid oak door & frame…narrow like a closet door, with hinges for $10 that I may go back for tomorrow for future henhouse door.

There is still a LOT of opportunity at the moment, & that we can do to prepare if we’re inventive & active.

I confess that as I looked at these Dyson things I had visions of the Mickey Mouse, the sorcerer’s apprentice, in that old Disney….what was it? Fantasia movie? We quit tv 20 years ago now, and quit Disney movies maybe 10 or so as we caught on to the gradual direction & conditioning there. Jason Cooley’s documentary on that is spot on on that.

We were never gamers, so that makes for learning and homeschool, lots of other stuff time. Never liked those ‘craft’ things that had no purpose anyways.

Back on topic, I had visions of dishes hitting the floor and wall, robot picking up baby or puppy and putting them in the trash can or toy box… etc. I realize the megabucks creeps & not so megabucks are into the porn aspects & they can sadly get their jollies with little sophistication……but robotics are NOT this advanced yet, or for anyone but the uber-rich & they never will be.

Next thing you know they’ll be promoting all metal ‘decor’ so they can automatically just spray it down like those build your own burrito places that always end up wherever you find Starbucks for the dumb, shallow and trendy hollow people with tiny, shriveled souls. How ‘homey’. And, what could go wrong? How about EVERYTHING!!
