Last week the company made headlines when they announced that all those who can show proof of vaccination can get one free glazed donut each day throughout 2021.
They received criticism from many pointing to the data that showed that those who are overweight and obese are more likely to test positive and potentially die from Covid. Others, especially in the media, were excited about this. The CEO of Krispy Kreme spoke out against the rebukes and stated that he just wanted to be generous.
Now they have also expanded this to one free cup of a medium-sized coffee and one free Original Glazed Donut each Monday. You do not have to be vaccinated.
No purchases are necessary, according to a USA Today report.
It’s a new work week, it’s been a long year since lockdown, so why don’t you take out a little time for yourself and have a nice cup of coffee and a doughnut.
David Skena. Krispy Kreme chief marketing officer
This promotion is only available at participating locations in the U.S. while supplies last. It is not valid with online orders or coupons. This offer is not available in Puerto Rico, Times Square, Dothan, Alabama, or Uncasville, Connecticut, according to the company’s website.
This promotion was actually announced the same day the original free donut for the vaccinated was announced. On the same day, they also announced: “Be Sweet Weekends.” Every weekend through May 23rd you can purchase a “Be Sweet Dozen” box for $1 when you buy any dozen donuts, says the USA Today report. This promotion contains 11 ordinary glazed donuts with 1 smiley-face donut.
Krispy Kreme offers its employees up to four hours of paid time off for each vaccine they get. Others such as Target, Trader Joe’s, and Best Buy offer something similar.

[13] Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: [14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. [15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:13-15
My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
Proverbs 1:10
Krispy KRUD is not about generosity and kindness: it is about making people fatter and sicker. End of story. There is far too much data that concludes that being overweight and obese goes hand and hand with a comprised immune system.
But this is so-called “health” in this country: get vaxxed to get “healthy:” and the incentives are to eat and drink something unhealthy. Genius!
