Today it was announced by multiple reports that the CDC and FDA are calling for a recommended pause on the use of the one dose Johnson & Johnson Vaccine.
The CDC and FDA released a joint statement saying they are currently investigating blood clots in six women days following their inoculation, additionally investigating lowered platelet counts, according to the South Bend Tribune.
Federal distribution channels, along with broad vaccination locations, will be pausing their usage of the J&J jab. Other states and providers are obligated to follow the same course of action.
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices for the CDC plans to meet on Wednesday to discuss these cases as the FDA has launched its own investigation.
Until that process is complete, we are recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution.
