A WinePress contributor made us aware of a new ice cream company that prides itself on being non-dairy, renewable and sustainable for the environment, and was partly developed in a laboratory.
The company is called Brave Robot and their products can increasingly be found in freezers across America.
The company has designed an ice cream that is created from non-dairy but is also not solely plant-based as to avoid the planty taste; rather, they have created a hybrid of sorts.
According to their website, they say their ice cream is “a big deal.”
We love dairy, it’s delicious. But conventional and factory farmed approaches to dairy are not good for animals or the planet. So we set out to make the world’s best tasting and most sustainable dairy ice cream.
Yes whey! It isn’t like dairy, it is dairy. Just without the cow. Our ice cream is made with animal-free dairy from Perfect Day, which is molecularly identical to dairy from cows but requires less water, land, and total greenhouse gas emissions.
We’re a group of like minded individuals working to create a planet positive movement at the intersection of science and food. We’re ice cream enthusiasts, dog owners, composters and future of the planet lovers from 5 countries spread across 10 states (and counting!).
The company explains more about their product in their FAQ section.
What is animal-free dairy?
Animal-free dairy describes the protein in our product. The non-animal whey protein is identical to what’s in cow’s milk, but made without using a single animal in the process. Animal-free dairy is vegan (as are all the other ingredients we use in our products!).
Why do we use animal-free dairy?
We’re big fans of this animal-free dairy protein because it ensures you get all the creamy, delicious taste and texture of ice cream, without animals, and less impact on the earth than anything else in the ice cream aisle.
How is your product made?
SCIENCE! We use Perfect Day non-animal whey protein to make Brave Robot Ice Cream. Non-animal whey protein is the same whey you’d find in cow’s milk, except zero cows are involved. How?! The bovine whey protein gene (stay with us) was digitized in an open source database (like an e-book!). Microflora are given the blueprint of the gene sequence, and then fermented in a tank along with some plant sugars (it’s just like brewing beer!).
The result? A non-animal whey protein. We then use it to make Brave Robot animal-free DAIRY ice cream that’s just as creamy + dreamy as the real thing—and uses less land, water, and energy than dairy production. It’s planet-positive ice cream.
But wait. It contains milk proteins. How is that considered vegan?
Brave Robot is vegan and contains milk proteins. It’s a paradox! The FDA requires a declaration of milk proteins because the animal-free whey protein is molecularly identical to whey protein that comes from cows. We encourage ice cream eaters who have a milk protein allergy to use the same precautions with Brave Robot that they would take with dairy. (But, reminder – Brave Robot is gloriously lactose free!)
So this ice cream didn’t come from a cow. Can you call it dairy?
Great question! The FDA requires a declaration of milk proteins as the non-animal whey protein is molecularly identical to dairy protein. However, the animal-free dairy protein is produced WITHOUT the use of animals, and with zero compromise on taste and nutrition.
Does your ice cream use GMOs?
Brave Robot does not contain GMOs. The Perfect Day non-animal whey protein we use to make our ice cream comes from microflora, which produce different kinds of protein naturally. The microflora are given the genetic instructions for creating whey protein and go through a fermentation process along with some plant sugars (just like brewing beer!). Afterwards, the modified microflora is filtered out, leaving only pure, non-animal whey protein. In other words, genetic engineering is part of the Perfect Day process (think of the microflora as mini protein factories), but no GMOs are present in the resulting non-animal whey protein we use to make our ice cream.
Why is this better for the planet?
Large-scale factory farming is terrible for the planet, not to mention the animals. Industrial dairy farming contributes A LOT of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, not to mention the resources needed to produce dairy (ex: it takes 144 gallons of water to produce ONE gallon of milk in the US). To meet the demand for delicious dairy, food companies often rely on factory farms to meet demand – but we think there’s a better way: animal-free dairy has less impact on the planet. We use science + nature to make (delicious!) ice cream that uses less water, land, and energy (and zero animals). We’re currently working on a third-party review of our entire supply chain that will show the animal-free impact difference. We’ll also use that information to improve everything we possibly can about our operations and supply chain – because every piece of the puzzle matters.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
[1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; [3] Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. [4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: [5] For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.1 Timothy 4:1-5
‘Paradox’ indeed: it is also called “Speaking lies in hypocrisy.” They are basically saying it is a GMO but it is not a GMO. Hypocrisy.
The prophecy in the King James Bible is continually being vindicated more and more in these current times. It has been ongoing for some years now but in the wake of the pandemonium resetting the fabric of society last year, there has been a massive push to get people off of the meats and eating a vegan diet. I am all for getting much more vegetables into everyone’s diet, and eating a leafier diet is a true liberty issue in the Bible (Romans 14), but a total vegan-vegetarian diet is not healthy whatsoever in the long term.
We have been continually noting the major push that more than ever before – to get people to eat a total vegetarian diet or eat artificial meats cultured in a laboratory. The King James got it right. The new versions replace the word ‘meats’ with ‘foods’ distorting the major prophecy that is being fulfilled as we speak.
What is even more interesting to note is that many “prophecy watching” outlets and channels have been silent on these developments. Many of them are using new versions so they are blind to what is transpiring, and many others are so busy cheerleading for Trump they are willingly ignoring blatant prophecies in broad daylight.

Additionally, do not buy into this conspiracy that raw milk is bad for you. There has been this baseless campaign going on for years that raw milk is somehow bad for you and how the bacterias and enzymes will affect your hormones (even though these same sickos have no problem putting ridiculous amounts of hormones from the opposite genders into one another). Do not listen to it. Raw milk, cheeses, yogurts, honey, and many things that go through a fermentation process are good for you.

Amazing, they don’t even hide the “third eye” opening and the tree of life symbol (Kabbalah) in the video. New Age Milk. No thanks.
I think I’ll never be able understand their hatred toward cows, it seems these nuts want to correct God when He created them, as if they knew better than Him. They are beautiful and wonderfully created animals.
