Yesterday Pope Francis and the Vatican turned some heads when it was announced that they officially decree it is sinful to bless a sodomite union. However, many priests are disregarding what Francis and company have to say.

According to a Reuters report, a group of rebel priests are leading the charge in a disobedience campaign against the Vatican saying they will still continue to defiantly bless sodomite marriages.

We members of the Parish Priests Initiative are deeply appalled by the new Roman decree that seeks to prohibit the blessing of same-sex loving couples. This is a relapse into times that we had hoped to have overcome with Pope Francis.

We will – in solidarity with so many — not reject any loving couple in the future who ask to celebrate God’s blessing, which they experience every day, also in a worship service.

An Austrian group said in a statement

Father Helmut Schuller leads the Parish Priests Initiative which has continually given the Vatican problems. They have long advocated to go against the vow of chastity and allow women the right to priesthood.

The group has said it will break Church rules by giving communion to Protestants and divorced Catholics who remarry, says Reuters.

This group has 350 official church members and 3,000 lay supporters.

In 2012 the Vatican came down on Schuller stripping him of his official right of the title of monsignor and stated he was no longer a “Chaplain of his Holiness.”

The report concludes with, Schueller, a former deputy to Vienna archbishop Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn, had been given the honorary title in his capacity as head of the Austrian branch of the Catholic charity group Caritas.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jude 7
[34] Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. [35] And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35

Sounds like this group is even more nutty than Francis in some ways. Forced celibacy is sin and to be in a pastoral or elder role a man has to be married and have children (1 Timothy 3). So he somewhat got something right: but that is me be extremely generous.

As we pointed out in yesterday’s report, Catholicism is a religion for hypocrites. One minute it’s this, one minute it’s that. This political system will continue to divide itself even further.

  • “and to be in a pastoral or elder role a man HAS TO BE married and have children (1 Timothy 3).”

    Uhh brother?

    1 Corinthians 7
1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

6 But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.

32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.

About the other stuff, if they think the Vatican got “too radical” again with this, wait until the Beast comes and break their Vatican Council II facade!

    • I am not saying a single man cannot be in ministry (I’d be condemning myself), but forced celibacy is antiscriptural. 1 Timothy 3 in the role of a pastor or elder (which is what the catholic priest would see himself as) clearly says they are to be the husband of one wife and to have their children in subjection. Catholicism directly teaches against that for all the priests/monks/cardinals and even nuns for that matter; along with their other vows they must take that are antiscriptural.
