Birmingham Mail reports that grocery giant Tesco has gone cashless at 40 of its cafes, claiming the move will reduce customer wait times and enhance shopping experiences.
Upon discovering the move, one customer said: “This has just been renovated and I came here to do shopping but first wanted to sit down with a coffee. I couldn’t do that because they don’t accept cash or Tesco gift cards as payment.” Derbyshire Live described the change as “bonkers.”
The WinePress has reported that Tesco was already moving in a cashless direction when the chain revealed its ambitions to transition to cashless transactions by 2023, and last year they began to do just that when it opened a “frictionless” location, where customers would simply walk in and put the grocery items in their cart, and walk out and their bank accounts would be charged immediately.
Martin Quinn from Campaign for Cash has derided the move as a “mad decision”. “Many of the customers will be elderly or retirees who want to order in person, not press a computer screen,” he said.
Another business going cashless is ASDA, a popular convenience and petrol chain. The company has confirmed that roughly 100 of its kiosks across 82 gas stations are going card-only. A spokesperson said that over 90% of its customers use a card or contactless device to purchase their gas and groceries. ‘Out of 300 petrol forecourts attached to Asda superstores, 14 are already cash-free and 68 more are set to join them,’ Birmingham Mail reported.
The spokesperson told the paper: “The colleagues who worked on these sites are moving into the store so they can better serve our customers,” and the complete change is expected to be finished “later in 2024.”

Aldi says all of its stores accept cash at both manned tills and self-service checkouts. But Aldi has also been dabbling in the frictionless payment space, The WP reported last year.
Sainsbury’s says the majority of its locations accept cash at its 1,500 stores and gas stations, but has not directly specified which locations do not.
Morrisons provides customers the option to pay with cash at its roughly 500 locations while still providing card-only stations.
This move reflects Britons using cash less and less. Derbyshire Live wrote: ‘UK Finance, the banking industry’s trade body, recently released data showing a 7% drop in cash payments in 2023 compared to the previous year, reports the Manchester Evening News. The statistics also disclosed that 40% of people, mainly the under-24 age group, are leading essentially cashless lifestyles, relying on cards and apps like Apple Pay.’

AUTHOR COMMENTARY
Britons are captives of their own enslavement they are creating for themselves; because of the perceived illusion of “convenience.” This is further evidence that the world is inching closer and closer to the eventual coming mark of the beast.
Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: [17] And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

Those that don’t fight it, with rue the day they kowtowed.
Of course it will eventually make its way here and it will cause havoc with some people who need to use cash For instance, my daughter lives in an apartment where you have to have cash to wash your clothes in their coin operated machines. That’s just a small inconvenience compared to what other blips there will be. The landlords are not going to want to change their machines to card operated machines, but they will be forced to do that. There will be MANY such problems in society when this happens here. Hopefully we will be going Home soon.
