The new Christian film “Jesus Revolution” has out performed expectations at the box office and has received a number of positive reviews for the film.
The movie produced by Lionsgate was expected to take in somewhere between $6-7 million in the opening, but more than doubled that by earning over $15 million in weekend box office and putting itself at third place overall. Box Office Mojo reports that the film earned $6, 272 per theater.
Fox News added that, ‘Despite mixed critic reviews, the movie was awarded an A+ CinemaScore and a 99% Rotten Tomatoes from the general audience. This is the fourth film from director Jon Erwin that has received an A+ CinemaScore, following “American Underdog,” “I Can Only Imagine” and “Woodlawn.”‘
Jon Erwin has now achieved four A+ CinemaScores, more than any other filmmaker since we have been compiling data. For a director to achieve that accomplishment once is a rarity. But to hit that mark four times is not only an incredible distinction – it’s unprecedented.

The film did much better than forecast because Deadline believes it was due to word of mouth per church and university screenings, and from promotion by different Contemporary Christian Musicians (CCM). Also, ‘Box office estimations also appeared to underestimate the star power of Kelsey Grammer, as well as Jonathan Roumie, a popular faith-basted actor who played Jesus in “The Chosen” franchise. Furthermore, it has been a long time since a Christian film got a wide theatrical release,’ Fox News added.
“Jesus Revolution” is the story of one young hippie’s quest in the 1970s for belonging and liberation that leads not only to peace, love, and rock and roll, but that sets into motion a new counterculture crusade – a Jesus Movement – changing the course of history, according to the film’s official synopsis.
The film focuses on Pastor Greg Laurie decades earlier in his life, during the 1970s, as he meets a hippie street preacher named Lonnie Frisbee. The two eventually connect with Pastor Chuck Smith, played by Grammer.
Smith, who died in 2013, was the real-life pastor of Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa. He played a role in the spiritual awakening that took place in Southern California in the 1960s and 1970s.

Jonathan Roumie also sat down for a short interview with Fox 13 Seattle to discuss the movie.
Roumie said that this revolution reshaped all of religion around the world for the better, and that he believes some that has returned citing recent events like the Asbury Revival as evidence of such.
Meanwhile Kelsey Grammer in a seperate interview appeared to tear-up during a live segment of ABC’s LIVE Kelly and Ryan, when describing the movie and the impact it has.
Years before this movie hit the big screen some Christian leaders and apologists have also pointed to this movement as a sign of revival, and therefore is proof that America can once again have revival just like that, said New Apostolic Reformation advocate and prognosticator Michael Brown in 2019.

The “Jesus Revolution,” both the actual movement and the movie are SATANIC. I was not alive during these times but I know enough about it to know it really destroyed Christianity in the United States; that promoted a plethora of abominations and rebellion – acts of rebellion and debauchery that still plague this country to this day and have of course only gotten insanely worse, to which the current generations have inherited and took them and ran with them.

I have discussed that passage before in other reports, and while you could argue these points interchangeably for the four current generations – Baby Boomers, Xennials, Millennials, Zoomers – I have said that verse 11 best aligns with the Boomers, for their rebellion really got the ball rolling for all these atrocities the world is now plagued with; which, ironically, church membership steadily declined annually since this time period. I mention this passage because God warns in the Second Commandment that he visits “the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me” (Exodus 20:5); and Proverbs lists 4 different generations and their most distinctive problem. All four generations currently match that of Proverbs 30; and as we can see in the world today, the Lord has come to visit, sort of speak.

I heard a William Grady sermon that may still be available online where the verses in Ezekial 8:5-10 are describing a modern movie theater.
