Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said during a press conference on Sunday that they got everything on their “wish list to Santa.”

Though not yet officially announced in Western media, the Ukrainian Defense Minister confirmed that they will be getting a supply of aircraft, as other nations plan to send even more heavy artillery and tanks.

The same day President Biden and NATO allies announced that they would be sending tanks to Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky then pleaded with NATO to send him tons of aircraft fighters.

Now it appears those fighters jets will be on the way soon.

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said during a press conference on Sunday that they got everything on their “wish list to Santa.”

Today, in terms of receiving weapons, we received everything, there are only planes left. I can add some optimism to you – there will be planes too, and the question is which ones.

Reznikov said, according to Ukrinform

It is widely expected that F-16s will be sent to Ukraine, the Defense Minister added. U.S. Defense contractors were already reportedly in the works to export F-16s to Europe to be delivered to Ukraine.

He further noted that Ukraine is set to become one of the world’s largest carriers of CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems, second only to France.

For instance, we will be the second in the world after France in [terms of the number of] CAESAR systems. 12 more CAESAR systems, which were promised to us by the Minister of Defence of France after my visit are on their way to Ukraine. The Kingdom of Denmark will also supply us with the CAESAR systems that it had ordered for itself from the French manufacturer.

Reznikov added

Yesterday Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reaffirmed the assurance of aircraft during a television broadcast.

This year, we will promote the topics crucial for Ukraine at the Munich Security Conference. The key topic is the supply of long-range missiles and opening the supply of combat aircrafts, since aircrafts are the last type of armament to be unlocked – all other positions were unlocked by teamwork within the course of last year. We will also discuss Ukraine’s membership in NATO and Russia’s future in general.

He said

Meanwhile Germany, after being a bit hesitant at first to send tanks to Ukraine, is now going to be sending a hefty sum of them.

Germany plans to send 88 combat Leopard-1 Main Battle tank [MBT] from their stockpiles and replace the donated ones with 15 Gepard tanks purchased from Qatar. This is already on top of the 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 Stinger anti-aircraft defense systems that Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s administration has already sent to Ukraine.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine marks a turning point.

It threatens our entire post-war order. In this situation, it is our duty to do our utmost to support Ukraine in defending itself against Vladimir Putin’s invading army. Germany stands closely by Ukraine’s side.

Scholz said in a statement

On top of this, The Dutch government recently announced that they will be sending 8 F-35 stealth fighter jets purchased from Lockheed Martin to Poland. Four of them will be used to survey NATO’s eastern airspace near the Baltic Sea. The other four will be used in allied training drills.

With eight fighter jets, the Netherlands contributes to the defense of NATO’s eastern flank.

The Dutch Ministry of Defense said in a statement

It is a great experience to deploy our advance fifth-generation jets here to Malbork.

By sending eight F-35s, the Netherlands underline their commitment to collective security in the region and contribute to showing NATO presence in the air.

Four of our jets are earmarked for the Air Policing mission and the other four will be available for training with our Allies. They can also be used immediately if the situation so requires.

Lieutenant Colonel Guido Schols, Commander of the Netherlands F-35 detachment, said

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

[6] And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. [7] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. [8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Matthew 24:6-8

The decision to send aircraft had been already planned for since the get-go. It was only a formality bound to happen eventually.

But once this becomes widely publicized in Western media, Zelensky will still be whining for even more.

This has become the next Vietnam. U.S. troops and brigades will be the next response, and then eventually a draft.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
