“We can elevate life because we have a blank canvas. This is the new future.”

Once touted as being the crown jewel of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s plans to overhaul the economy, Saudi Arabia’s smart city project called “Neom” is still under rapid construction, as it is poised to allow new residents to start moving in by sometime in 2024.

The WinePress has covered Saudi Arabia’s ambitious plans in two separate pieces covering what they are building:

Saudi Arabia To Create Floating Smart City To “Live In Harmony With Nature” By 2030

Developers with Neom recently published a short video showcasing some of the progress that has been made for this new hi-tech city.

The video presentation displays The Line smart city and Oxagon industrial center (see above articles for more details) – including the sustainable mountain tourism destination called Trojena, and the island development named Sindalah.

Neom developers also discussed their investments in things like the Volocopter, “the next generation of transport,” which is basically a large drone tax or flying car as some may call it.

If we are to solve the challenges of tomorrow, we must face up to them today, no matter how difficult they may seem.

At Neom, we are addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing humanity by bringing together a community of the brightest minds committed to reimagining what a sustainable future will look like in 20 to 30 years, and building it today. We are redefining the future now. Neom is open for business.

Really, you can “elevate life?” You mean like “ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil?” (Genes 3:5).

The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Proverbs 19:23

All this travail, all this work, all for what? You people have NO life; but think because you built a so-called floating city on water you’re so smart? My o’ my are you in for a rude awakening.

The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

Proverbs 10:16

Neom is like the many other smart cities being rapidly created around the world, or at least planned to be, all with similar goals and utopian sales pitches. This is what the WEF describes what life will (supposedly) be like by 2030. That is, of course, for the population that mostly remains after the world has taken some haircuts within the next few years.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
