Yesterday Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky paid the United States a visit yesterday, meeting with President Joe Biden and speaking to an euthanistic Congress that rolled out the red carpet for him.

He first spoke standing next to Biden, where Biden reassured Zelensky that the U.S. “will stand with you.” Zelensky once again seized the moment to talk about all the innocent children that he says are dying. Both of them reiterated the philosophy that Putin’s mission is failing but Ukraine will continue to have success.

Notwithstanding, however, Zelensky still needs more money.

At one point Zelensky said, “We are grateful for their support, but it is not enough. It is a hint – it is not enough.” This has been the identical mantra Zelensky has repeated since the conflict began in late-February.

ZeroHedge reported:

“I look forward to signing the omnibus bill soon which includes $45 billion for Ukraine,” Biden said, while also unveiling 1.8 billion of security assistance that includes both direct transfers as well as contracts for future ammo supplies. In total, it will constitute “$2.2 billion in new support,” Biden said. The package will include a patriot missile battery, Biden said, as previewed. While emphasizing that Patriot systems will be a “critical asset” for Ukraine, he admitted that training “may take some time”. Biden as expected also stressed the “defensive” nature of the Patriot system.

Since then that omnibus package, totaling $1.7 trillion, has passed.

Zelensky then spoke with the Congress, where both parties congratulated and cheered for Zelensky. He was also gifted an Ukrainian flag from Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi that had signatures from the many different congressional leaders.

ZeroHedge provided a truncated synopsis of Zelensky’s speech before the House:

Zelensky spoke for a little over 30 minutes and in English, at times invoking key US historical moments from the Battle of Saratoga to the Battle of the Bulge (and comparing the courage of Ukrainian soldiers), after he was greeted as a ‘hero’ in a minutes-long standing ovation. He asserted that Ukraine is winning “against all odds”. He was throughout frequently interrupted by standing ovations from a partially filled Congress, which was missing a lot of Republicans, in part given a number of lawmakers had already traveled home for the holidays ahead of the unexpected in-person visit, and facing incoming severe weather.

Zelensky peppered the speech with positive and optimistic statements like “Ukraine holds its lines and will never surrender,” and “but our defense forces stand” – especially offering the latest example of Bakhmut, in the Donbas. As expected, a major theme was the need for continued US support, for which he thanked the Biden administration, Congress, and the American people.

“The occupiers have an advantage in artillery and much more heavy equipment like tanks and airplanes,” he began a section of the address in which he appealed for continued aid. “Your support is crucial… to get to the turning point on the battlefield.”

“We have artillery, is it enough? Not really.” He explained that Ukraine needs enough ammo and weapons to be able to completely expel Russian forces from Ukrainian territory. He also spoke of the misery that Russian-operated Iranian drones are unleashing on the civilian population in attacking energy infrastructure. “I would like to thank you for the financial packages,” he said, and followed with: “Your money is not charity” but an investment in “global security” that Ukraine will “handle in the most responsible way.”

Among the more interesting statements was the moment he indirectly pressed for the US to provide tanks and warplanes. While he stressed that Ukraine has never asked American troops to fight on Ukraine’s behalf on its soil, he asserted: “I can assure you that Ukrainian soldiers can perfectly operate American tanks and planes themselves.”

On the potential for a negotiated peace, he called attention of his prior “10-point plan” which he said should be implemented (and which Russia previously firmly rejected), and which he said Biden approved of during the Wednesday meeting at the White House.

Zelensky additionally called on Congress to join Ukraine in bringing every Russian “criminal” to justice. “Let the terrorist state” be held accountable, he said. He emphasized millions of Ukrainians will have no heating or water as they celebrate Christmas.

“Only victory!” he stressed near the end of the speech, and also quoted from Franklin D. Roosevelt’s famous “Day of Infamy” speech. “The American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory,” Zelensky said, and followed by pledging that Ukraine too will achieve “absolute victory.”

Needless to say Russia is not happy about this at all, and have once again reiterated that they have been calling for peace talks and cooler heads to prevail since day one, but it has been the U.S., NATO, and Zelensky habitually calling for more cash for more war.

Russian ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov, issued a statement on his Telegram page following Zelensky’s speeches (emphasis his):

The Hollywood-style trip to Washington by the head of the Kiev regimehas confirmed that the administration’s conciliatory statements about the lack of intention to start a confrontation with Russia are just empty words.

What was essentially announced
to applauses and sarcastic smirks, was the need to continue the “proxy war” against our country. Till a full victory over us.

Enormous resources, weapons, intelligence capabilities are thrown in. The manic idea of “victory over the Russians on the battlefield” is put at the forefront. Some legislators even argue that the Russian Federation can be conquered in three days.

Despite
our warningsPatriotair defense system will be sent to Kyiv. However, the country does not have specialists to work with them. So, will those be American specialists? Or citizens of another NATO country? They cannot but realize here that Western weapons are being systematically destroyed by our military. I think everyone understands perfectly well what fate the personnel, manning these complexes on the territory of Ukraine, can face.

I want to emphasize that we have repeatedly tried and are still trying to appeal to common sense at all levels. It was stressed that the provocative actions by the U.S. are steadily leading to an escalation, the consequences of which cannot even be imagined. Thusly, discussions about the hypothetical supply of ATACMS missiles and long-range strike UAVs to Ukrainians are deeply disturbing.

The United States are fully responsible for unleashing the Ukrainian conflict in 2014.
All these years, Washington has stubbornly ignored or pretended not to notice the inhuman crimes of the Kiev regime against the Russian population in Ukraine.

Zelensky’s visit to the American capitalthe talks in Washington showedthat neither the administration nor Zelensky is ready for peace. Focus is on war, on the death of ordinary soldiers, on further tying the Ukrainian regime to the needs of Washington. The notions mulled by the U.S. media that Russia is not interested in achieving peace are a blatant lie. The Russian position was repeatedly voiced by the President of Russia.

During a press conference today Putin was also asked about his thoughts on Zelesnky’s visit and the States’ agreement to send Patriot Missile defense systems to Ukraine.

Putin had a lengthy response, but in short: Putin laughed about America’s involvement and said that the U.S. was already involved before the war began, and are responsible for the mess. The sum of it is this:

The United States has long been this engaged: they have long been involved in processes, occurring in the Soviet and post-Soviet space. Even in Soviet times, entire institutions worked in Ukraine, they perfectly [are] aware of the history of this issue. There are deep specialists, who are professionally versed in this. I repeat, they prepared in Soviet times the soil, people were sought, meanings were determined and so Further. I don’t want now – this is not the same format, where one could delve into the history of the question, but nevertheless it is still clear where everything came from.

What’s new here? The idea was born long ago in itself of Ukrainian separatism, even within the framework of a single country. You see, I’m talking about this all the time if someone thought that a separate ethnic group had formed, wants to live independently – for God’s sake, you can’t in no case go against the will of the people.

But if so, then this principle should be universal, and in no case go against the will of that part of the people that feels yourself in a different hypostasis, considering himself part of the Russian people and the Russian world, consider that they are part of this culture, part this language, part of this story and tradition. And you can’t fight against them either.

And against them launched a war in 2014 – it was the war. After all, about it speech. And what is it if from the air hit right in the center of millionaire cities? And what is it if they are turned against them troops with armored vehicles? This is war, military operations. We all endured, endured, endured, and hoped for some kind of peace. Now it turns out that we were just taken by the nose. So so a country like the States has been doing this for a long time. Long time ago.

In this sense, we can say that today’s events, if they brought us to this, in this sense we can say that they have achieved their result. But we no longer had any choice but those actions that were launched at the end of February this year. Yes, that’s the logic of events, but ours the goal is primarily to protect people, I repeat once again, who feel like a part of our people, part of our culture.

We are not going to arrange any provocations, but still this is a factor of amplification our actual strategic forces, although these medium-range systems, but they have such speed characteristics that they give us certain in this sense benefits.

As for Patriot, that’s enough old system. She doesn’t work like, say our S-300. Nevertheless, those who are for us confronts, proceed from the fact that it is supposedly defensive weapons. Okay. We just we will keep this in mind, and there will always be an antidote. So those who are does, do it in vain: it’s just prolongation of the conflict, that’s all.

Putin said

After Zelensky’s speech Max Blumenthal for The Grayzone News was able to catch up with the Ukrainian diaspora delegation who are all-in in spending billions more for Ukraine. However they too repeated $45 billion was not enough, there are Neo-Nazis in Ukraine, and much more. The politicians had very flagrant responses.

He also was able to catch up with Senator Joe Manchin who also said he’s “all in” in sending many more billions to Ukraine.

$1.7 Trillion

Today the $1.7 trillion omnibus package – that contains the billions worth of funding to Ukraine, government spending, a slew other things (not included the things no one has had even a chance to read let alone see) – passed today in a bipartisan vote, 68-29.

The Daily Caller reported on the 18 Republicans that voted for the package:

Republican Sens. Roy Blunt (MO), John Boozman (AR), Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Susan Collins (ME), John Cornyn (TX), Tom Cotton (AR), Lindsey Graham (SC), Jim Inhofe (OK), Mitch McConnell (KY), Jerry Moran (KS), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Robert Portman (OH), Mitt Romney (UT), Mike Rounds (SD), Richard Shelby (AL), John Thune (SD), Roger Wicker (MS) and Todd Young (IN) all voted in favor of the legislation.

Supposedly the bill was rushed so fast and so many things were thrown into it the Senators did not even have a chance to read the thing. If they did, due to its size, it would take quite some time to accomplish. Only a limited number of items are being reported on in the media.

The bill allows for $858 billion on defense spending – a 9.7% increase, and $772.5 billion on non-defense – a 5.5% increase.

The world’s greatest military will get the funding increase that it needs, outpacing inflation. Meanwhile, non-defense, non-veterans spending will come in below the rate of inflation, for a real-dollar cut.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who hailed the bill as a victory for Republicans due to the increase in defense spending, said

To go to a [continuing resolution] or even worse, a government shutdown, would be a huge disservice at any time, and particularly at holiday season, to the American people.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said

USA Today lists some of the other points they only wish to disclose.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

This level of government corruption is nothing new, as Washington’s District of Criminals always pass these insane packages that no one gets to read, and right before Christmas when hardly no one is paying attention.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Proverbs 29:2

While it is important for all of us to relax and decompress a bit this Christmas and holiday season, I do recommend you keep an eye open for a false flag or something catastrophic to occur, especially in light of what just happened with Zelensky.
