Fairview Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist Church in Greer, South Carolina, was recently under scrutinized after student youth pastor Cory Wall was distributing stickers that say “I❤️ Hot Youth Pastors” to the underage congregation.

The inspiration for such a sticker borrows from an ongoing dirty joke/tagline that says “I heart hot moms,” which has since garnered people to replace the ‘moms’ part with anything people can think of. In this case, this youth pastor thought it be funny to replace ‘moms’ with “youth pastors.”

As indicated by a report from Protestia, the leadership of the church later found about the incident after angry parents posted their findings online, and then quickly snowballed on social media calling for the pastor’s termination from the job and arrest.

Wall later published an apology message to one of the families attending the church:

Let me assure you that my intentions were pure, and the last thing I wanted to do was make you, your sister, or anyone else in attendance feel uncomfortable.

The sticker was meant to poke fun of the “I Love Hot Mom” culture. In hindsight, the joke was of very poor taste and a mistake on my part. I do apologize for their distribution.

The lead pastor Scott Shipes explained that Wall has since be reprimanded and placed on administrative leave for the time being. He also alludes to a separate instance where Wall revealed his purported porn addiction he had when he was younger, that was shared with the students but never alerted parents that he was going to discuss these matters first.

Eventually the Fairfield released an official statement on social media concerning the issue.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

It’s interesting because something similar to this happened in the New Testament, and is playing out now once again:

[1] It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. [2] And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. [3] For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, [4] In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, [5] To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. [11] But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.[12] For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? [13] But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

1 Corinthians 5:1-5, 11-13

The only difference with this and now is that this creeper of a preacher did more than just “foolish talking” and “jesting” (Ephesians 5:3-4), and that the lost world nowadays routinely jokes about loves fornicating with moms – an expletive that will go unmentioned here but is used so commonly today – but this youth pastor is joking about the very atrocious thing that happened in 1 Corinthians 5; and, not surprisingly, the leadership is clueless, will probably keep this perv on the payroll, and the lost world once again continues to get a resupply of ammo to blaspheme the word of God.

And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

Romans 3:8

The Southern Baptists don’t even have salvation correct, which translates to just how utterly wicked these corporate government institutions perform. But this is old news to anyone with eyes and ears, and an actual adherence to King James Bible.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
