This new year officially marks the start of a new generation of people. Generation Alpha has come to an end and thus marks the new: Generation Beta.

Babies born starting on January 1st, and for the next 14 years proceeding, will make up Generation Beta, which will undoubtably step into a rapidly altering paradigm shift around the world. Generation Beta are those born between 2025 and 2039.

McCrindle, an Australian social research group led by generational analyst Mark McCrindle, highlights what they believe Gen Beta will have to undergo as they age-up in this rapidly transforming world.

For Generation Beta, the digital and physical worlds will be seamless. While Generation Alpha has experienced the rise of smart technology and artificial intelligence, Generation Beta will live in an era where AI and automation are fully embedded in everyday life—from education and workplaces to healthcare and entertainment.

They will likely be the first generation to experience autonomous transportation at scale, wearable health technologies, and immersive virtual environments as standard aspects of daily life. Their formative years will be marked by a greater emphasis on personalisation—AI algorithms will tailor their learning, shopping, and social interactions in ways we can only begin to imagine today.

It is also worth noting that technology plays a dual role in modern day parenting. On one hand, we have seen parents, notably Millennial parents, leverage technology as a tool for education, connection, and entertainment, integrating it seamlessly into their children’s lives from a young age. On the other hand, there is also a cautious awareness of the potential pitfalls of technology, prompting parents to balance screen time with outdoor activities and interpersonal interactions.

While many Millennial parents used social media to document their children’s lives, Generation Z know more about both the positives and challenges that come with social media use from a young age. Gen Z parents are more likely to strongly agree that limiting their child’s screen time is a high priority for them (36% Gen Z parents compared to 30% older Millennial parents). As the most technologically savvy generation of parents, Gen Z see the benefits of technology and screen time, but equally they see the downsides of it and are pushing back on technology and the age at which their children access and engage with it.

[…] Generation Beta will also inherit a world grappling with major societal challenges. With climate change, global population shifts, and rapid urbanisation at the forefront, sustainability will not just be a preference but an expectation. This generation will be raised by Millennial and older Gen Z parents, many of whom prioritise adaptability, equality, and eco-consciousness in their parenting.

This will result in Generation Beta being more globally minded, community-focused, and collaborative than ever before. Their upbringing will emphasise the importance of innovation not just for convenience, but for solving the pressing challenges of their time.

[…] Generation Beta represents the dawn of a new era. They will grow up in a world shaped by breakthroughs in technology, evolving social norms, and an increasing focus on sustainability and global citizenship. Understanding their needs, values, and preferences will be critical as we anticipate how they will shape the future of society.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

McCrindle is painting a very rosy picture of the future for Gen Beta, and really the world in general.

Proverbs 14:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Proverbs 26:12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

This is going to sound fatalistic and dystopic, but let’s be real here: Gen Beta won’t live long enough to see much of this.

Gen Beta kids, generally speaking, are going to be an unmitigated disaster. If the mess created for Gen Z and Gen Alpha is any indication, Gen Beta is going to be unfathomably royally screwed, and just how screwed-up in the head they are going to be in general. Just type in ‘Gen Alpha’ in the YouTube search engine, and you’ll see all these videos discussing how messed up these kids are or are going to be because of everything they have been exposed to and have had to live through, the lockdowns having played a massive part in curtailing and ruining their development as well.

We know where all this is headed because the word of God already declares it:

Luke 21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. [10] Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: [11] And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; [3] Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Gen Z is already the smallest generation by far, and rapidly declining birthrates around the world have made Gen Alpha even noticeably smaller in scale, and Gen Beta is going to be minute. People are already withholding having children as it is; hook-up culture is basically a myth; and as conditions around the world rapidly get worse – economic meltdowns, currency collapses, increased war, famine and disease (real and artificial) – not as many children will be birthed; and, broadly speaking for the world, those not born to God-fearing parents are going to have it very rough and probably won’t reach that far into early adulthood, to be very brutally honest.

SEE:

Now, don’t let this discourage you from having children, if you are born again, if it is the Lord’s will in your life; but for the rest of the world, it’s going to be unpleasant for all generations, and that’s putting it mildly. I suppose the fate of Gen Beta, while dystopic, is frankly a better fate to have than the one if they were to hypothetically live to see 2100…

Ecclesiastes 7:1 A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
