In the final months of Joe Biden’s tenure, it was revealed yesterday that the President provided authorization for Ukraine to fire long-range missiles within Russia, a move that could easily exacerbate and greatly widen this war.

While President Donald Trump campaigned saying he would immediately look to end the war in Ukraine, President Biden seems keen on keeping it going before he leaves, though some of Trump’s latest cabinet picks are in favor of keeping the war going.

Antiwar.com reported (excerpts):

The New York Times reported on Sunday that President Biden had authorized Ukraine’s use of long-range US-provided missiles in strikes on Russian territory, an escalation Moscow has made clear risks nuclear war.

US officials told the paper that Ukraine can now use Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), which have a range of up to 190 miles, to strike Russian territory. The ATACMS are fired by US-made multiple rocket launch systems, including the HIMARS. Ukraine can only fire the HIMARS with coordinates provided by or confirmed by the US and its allies, meaning the US will now directly support strikes deep inside Russia.

The US officials said the ATACMS will likely initially be used to hit Russian troops fighting against Ukrainian forces in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.

The US appeared to back down on supporting long-range strikes in Russia, but now the Biden administration is looking to escalate the proxy war as much as possible for its last few months in power. President-elect Donald Trump campaigned on ending the proxy war, and the Biden team and officials in Ukraine fear he will just do that. However, some of Trump’s cabinet picks favor escalation in Ukraine, including his National Security Advisor, Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL).

In a recent interview with NPR, Waltz was asked how Trump could end the war, and he suggested an escalation of sanctions and supporting long-range strikes in Russia.

“First and foremost, you would enforce the actual energy sanctions on Russia. Russia is essentially a gas station with nukes. Putin is selling more oil and gas now than he did prewar through China and Russia. And you couple that with unleashing our energy, lifting our LNG ban, and his economy and his war machine will dry up very quickly,” Waltz said. “So I think that will get Putin to the table. We have leverage, like taking the handcuffs off of the long-range weapons we provided Ukraine as well. And then, of course, I think we have plenty of leverage with Zelensky to get them to the table.”

In a statement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the policy shift, stating, “Today, much is being said in the media about us receiving permission for the relevant actions. But strikes are not made with words. Such things are not announced. The missiles will speak for themselves. Glory to Ukraine!”

This news was not pleasing to the ears of Russian officials including President Vladimir Putin. In a statement to local press, Putin commented:

“If this decision is adopted, it will mean nothing less than direct participation of Nato countries, the US, European countries in the war in Ukraine. This direct participation will of course significantly alter the very nature of this conflict.

“Ukraine is already striking Russian territory with its drones… But when it comes to the use of long-range missiles of western production, that is a whole different story. Strike sites using modern long-range high-precision systems of Western production; Ukraine can’t do that. It’s only possible using satellites which Ukraine doesn’t have; using data from the EU or the US.

“That is why it is not about Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory. It’s not about whether or not to allow Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory. We are talking about a decision on whether NATO countries are directly involved in the military conflict or not. If this decision is made it can mean nothing other than NATO is directly participating in the conflict in Ukraine.”

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

President Trump has been very unclear about what exactly he would do to broker a deal to end the war in Ukraine; and his recent cabinet picks (more on that in later reports) are more of the same warhawks, neocons and RINOs previously. Nothing has changed, per usual. SEE: ‘Fear Ye Not Me? Saith The Lord.’ Americans Are Hysterical Over Election Outcome But Have No Fear Of God. BlackRock Says ‘It Doesn’t Matter’

Just days after Trump was [s]elected, The Telegraph reported: “Trump is considering a peace plan for Ukraine: British troops patrol 800-mile buffer zone.” In other words – let me spell that out for you – this would be akin to what the U.S. does in countries such as Syria so we can “protect” the oil and other “national interests,” but then claim we are not at war or illegally occupying sovereign territory that most Americans could not find on a map. Ukraine will continue to be used as a ballistic sandbox and vassal state of the United States, until the U.S. hegemony crumbles.

Even the recently selected Senate Majority Leader John Thune (South Dakota) is a total warmongering deepstater, an underling of braindead Mitch McConnell that is now retiring.

Biden-Harris will continue to flood Ukraine with more weapons until the moment they can’t; and the goal is clearly, in my opinion, to ramp-up the war so much so that by the time Trump does takeover, it will provide the perfect alibi for Trump to “talk tough” with Putin and keep funding this war out of necessity, to the cheers of the MAGA crowd that unflinchingly supports anything and everything he does.

But as far as I am concerned the war was going to continue until it doesn’t regardless of who won. However, with a Trump administration, it will probably become a lot easier to recruit and retain soldiers under the false narrative that Trump is a real leader and talks tough.

Matthew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. [7] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. [8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
