US To Test Nuclear Hypersonic Missile After Election Polling Closes

The United States military is scheduled to test-fire a hypersonic nuclear missile on Tuesday (Nov 5) within hours after the presidential polls close, according to a report in Express UK. The launch of the unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile is expected between 11:01 pm and 5:01 am (local time) from the US state of California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base.

According to US military officials, the test will be conducted to exhibit the “readiness of nuclear US forces” and provide “confidence in the nation’s nuclear deterrence”.

The officials also stressed that the test launch had nothing to do with the presidential elections as the “test is routine and was scheduled years in advance.”

The missile will make a breathtaking show as it will be fired across the Pacific sky.

It will travel a staggering 4,200 miles from its US base to Kwajalein Atoll—a small island in the North Pacific. To put things into perspective, this journey is roughly the same distance as between London and New Delhi. Notably, the missile will cover that distance in just 22 minutes.

The test is scheduled against the backdrop of rising tensions in West Asia, Ukraine as well as the Taiwan Strait.

The launch may also be seen as the USA’s symbolic pushback against alleged Russian, Chinese and Iranian plots to interfere in the country’s election process.

What is also fascinating is that there are hardly any Western outlets reporting on, save only for a couple, but even those are not American.

Whether what the military says is true or not, why would one schedule to do this type of test on election night? What message does this send?

What a lot of people are missing is that even though the election is today, there is a LOT of time between now and January 20th, Inauguration Day. Much can and probably will transpire before then, especially the acceleration of these world conflicts before that day arises regardless of who is [s]elected.
