US Navy Posts Photo Of Commander Holding Rifle With Backwards Scope, Quickly Deletes Out Of Embarrassment

American Military News reported: “The Navy shared a photo of USS John S. McCain Commander Cameron Yaste holding a military rifle with its Trijicon VCOG scope mounted backward as he aimed at a target balloon off the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer.”

The Navy’s post originally stated:

Cmdr. Cameron Yaste, the Commanding Officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56), fires at the “killer tomato” during a gun shoot. The ship is in US 7th Fleet conducting routine operations. 7th Fleet is the US Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific Region.

Users on social media were very quick to point out the blunder. The Navy then subsequently deleted the post afterwards.

Here is a picture that accurately depicts how the scope should be properly mounted:

After the Navy got embarrassed for posting this picture it was reportedly deleted from the Defense Department’s database and uploaded another post on social media. The new post reads, “Thank you for pointing out our rifle scope error in the previous post. Picture has been removed until EMI is completed!”

This “Kodak Moment” comes at a time when the U.S. is increasing its presence and maneuvering troops in the Middle East to help defend Israel, along with continued saber-rattling with Russia and China in support of Ukraine and Taiwan, among others. So, here’s the “great” American empire threatening the world, provoking and enticing war at every corner, and its commanders cannot even properly mount their scopes to fire their weapons! This was not a grunt, this was a Commander; and God only knows how many people saw this and approved it before it went public. And then the Pentagon and officials are wondering why they are failing to attract fresh recruits to replenish its depleted and undermanned stations…

But I guess this is what happens when gender ethics, inclusivity, and LGTBQIA+ rights are pushed more than the actual training – what a military is supposed to do…

The world is laughing at us right now, and who could blame them? I’m laughing alongside with them.

I’ve referenced this quote a number of times before it suffices to print it again: former U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Karen Kwiatkowski, who has experience working at the Pentagon and the National Security Agency (NSA), has warned that the United States cannot match the power and production of nations like Russia. Her statements came off of the back of the news that shipping giant Maersk was cutting their contracts with the U.S. military, giving them to a smaller and newer company, creating a logistical bind to transport America’s weaponry.

We have an inability to outproduce the Russian military, we cannot out produce the Chinese military in terms of our weapons production, our technology cannot match theirs, in terms of hypersonics or any other advanced technologies.

I mean, [look at] the story of our F-35 [going missing] in South Carolina not long ago. This is putting a face to the reputation of what modern military technology has done to us. It is not making us stronger, better, faster.

If we can’t logistically go other places, and if we could with these ships, we don’t have the stuff to point on the ships to bring to fight a war, to bring a war to other places like China, like Russia, or anywhere else.

We are not a force to be reconned with, and, it doesn’t matter what you tell the American people, ‘oh rah-rah, we’re great, we can do it’ – in reality, the folks that are our near peer competitors, or anybody in this planet, that have access to the same information that you or I do, and they are drawing these conclusions.

The end of the American empire is near.
