“A ‘Sin Tax’ on meat may be on the cards in the near future,” the company said.

Sainsbury’s, one of the United Kingdom’s largest grocery stores, published their “Future of Food Report” in 2022, which detailed what the future of eating habits will be by 2025, 2050, and way far out in 2169. The report heavily insinuated and reported that consumers will be “flexitarian” and vegan in the short run, as over time meat no longer becomes a choice for people to eat, as technology and biometrics advance, and habits alter.

“We have always been at the forefront of introducing new food to the nation, turning once ‘niche’ items into everyday products,” Sainsbury’s said in the forward. According to their broad analysis:

Driven by unprecedented awareness of animal welfare, health concerns and ecoanxiety, more of us than ever could be putting the planet first when writing our
shopping list. It’s expected that a quarter of all British people will be vegetarian in 2025 (up from one in eight Britons today) and half of us will identify as flexitarians (up from fifth today). Sainsbury’s alone has already seen a 24% increase in customers searching for vegan products online, and a 65% increase in sales of plant-based products year on-year, as customers increasingly consider a vegan, vegetarian or flexitarian lifestyle.

In thirty years, jellyfish and other ‘invasive species’ could be found on the fish counter as recent research has found them to be full of nutrients and vitamins. And we could even be introducing a ‘lab-grown’ aisle, where people can pick up cultured-meats and kits to grow meat at home. Meat, as we know it today, could instead start to become a luxury product.

We could start to see a very different food landscape in 150 years’, as scientists may well be farming in space and sending back their learnings to us on Earth. This would be instrumental to us being able to farm on land which was previously barren – providing us with seasonal produce all year round.

With developments in technology happening every day there are endless possibilities for how we could be consuming our food in the future. It’s likely that we’ll be consuming our key nutrients through implants. While nutrition patches and drips could replace our day-to-day intake, traditional celebrations – birthdays, family occasions – could be bigger and better than ever before, with the aesthetics of food strengthening the bonds of community.

Delving deeper into the report, the British grocery megachain explains that by 2025 that diets will become very “plant-friendly,” adding that “following a more plant-rich diet helps reduce excessive nutrient runoff from agricultural areas into rivers and lakes, land and water use as well as greenhouse gases,” implying that regularly eating meat contributes to the harmful emissions.

The consolidation of environmental footprinting apps will also help make our food planetfriendly in 2025 by providing much more clarity to customers about the biggest impacts of our food. Integration of these apps into ones more widely used such as Google Maps, will provide accurate, tailored information to customers – whether they be interested in carbon, calories or chemicals – cutting through the complexity and delivering personalised information. With all the information in one place, making the right choices for the health of the planet will be far easier for both retailers and their consumers.

Furthermore, in the place of meat, Sainsbury’s says customers will be transitioning (by 2025) to be eating more “mushroom-based products, algae milk, seaweed caviar and insects,” which include things like a “cricket burger,” the company references. Additionally, the company notes that even some livestock such as chickens will be forcibly fed more plant-based feeds such as algae.

Moreover, by 2025, Sainsbury’s hints that a more “food-as-medicine” approach will be adopted. The company wrote: “The thinking in preventative medicine through food and nutrition is now beginning to incorporate diet into healthcare, rather than relying solely on medications, and food businesses are beginning to support customers in making healthy choices, in addition to offering products such as bio-fortified foods with potential health benefits.”

Moving into their 2050 speculations, Sainsbury’s explains how lab-grown, cell-cultured, and 3D-printed meats will be normalized, or perhaps even consumers having the option to “grow” this faux meat themselves at home. They argue that based on the current trend and population, Western nations will be unable to sustain normal meat consumption. “If populations who have historically eaten less meat follow our eating habits, we won’t have the natural resources or environmental stability to produce for global demand,” the grocery store argues. Even jellyfish will be on the menu, they say.

But interestingly enough, Sainsbury’s posits that in order to influence the transition from eating meat to more plant-based diets and lab-grown meats, a so-called “sin tax” will be introduced to force consumers away from eating meat.

As our understanding of the impact of meat on the environment grows, governments around the world are taking steps to persuade citizens to change their eating habits.

In 2018 the UK introduced a levy on sugary drinks in an attempt to improve public health by encouraging the public to consume less sugar. A recent report by FAIRR suggests a similar kind of ‘Sin Tax’ on meat may be on the cards in the near future. Meat taxes have already been discussed in parliaments in Germany, Denmark and Sweden and China’s government cut its recommended maximum meat consumption by 45% in 2016.

The big shift in 2050 is predicted to come through a concerted effort to change social norms and make such products appeal to consumers. This will possibly involve a radical shift from perceiving meat as innate to animals to perceiving cultured meat as a healthy and efficient protein tissue that is lab-grown, much in the same way we would brew beer.

The WinePress reported earlier this year that in 2015 the World Bank and Cargill, among others, ran a simulation they called the “Hunger Games,” predicting what would have to the world and food supplies from 2020-2030; and predicted that by 2024 carbon and meat taxes would be introduced in the E.U. and U.S. In January a panel at the World Economic Forum called for a necessary carbon tax, which they indicated the framework was ready to be implemented very soon.

The report continued by noting that blockchain technology will play a pivotal role with food in the future, which will track and trace all the metadata for each individual piece of food, tethered to consumer’s unique food IDs. The company wrote:

Many food companies that are exploring the use of blockchain technology to allow a complete tracking and tracing capacity in the food supply chain. Blockchain can enable opensource transparency technology that allows all information about any given product – such as farm origination details, batch numbers, factory and processing data, expiration dates, storage temperatures and shipping details – to be made available.

In 2016, MIT developed concepts for the “Supermarket of the Future”. According to Carlo Ratti, founder of MIT’s Senseable City Laboratory, customers of the future will be fully informed about their food choices: “We will be able to discover everything there is to know about the apple we are looking at: the tree it grew on, the CO2 it produced, the chemical treatments it received, and its journey to the supermarket shelf.”

In this future vision, sensors will allow customers to find out more about any item on the shelf by simply lifting it up towards overhead digital displays. Sensors built into the mirrored display will identify the item and present detailed information on price, nutritional value, presence of allergens, pesticides or fertilisers used in production, journey to the supermarket and waste disposal instructions. Additional monitors display information aiming to promote more conscious and sustainable consumption.

This new technology-driven food future will begin to change the shape of what we are eating. Mike Lee developed a futurist food project to explore how we will produce and shop for food over the next 25 years, to help food companies innovate more ambitiously today. The Future Market, a pop-up concept grocery store, demonstrates how the mainstreaming of today’s cutting-edge trends, behaviours and technologies will become mainstream products and services towards 2050. Lee predicts that uniform, mass production and marketing will have fallen out of favour and food will be highly tailored to each individual customer.

With every customer having their own Food ID, diets could be extremely customised, with fruit such as mangoes offered to us at our preferred stage of ripeness, and 3D printed savoury snacks on demand according to our exact spice tolerance. Systems will record and analyse food preferences with user inputs and real-time biometrics.

The remainder of the Sainsbury’s report describes this high-tech cyborg world by 2169, and how people will have biometric chips implanted in them, and will awake to their curated nutrition drips to receive their “intravenous breakfast.” Moreover, apparently, climate change will have been so bad a “half-earth rule” will be implemented, meaning “half of the earth’s land and surface is designated as a human and development-free reserve to halt habitat loss and preserve biodiversity and the law of ecocide.”

A significant step on from wearable tech used today, the advent of personal microchips and neural laces has the potential to see all of our genetic, health and situational data recorded, stored and analysed by algorithms which could work out exactly what we need to support us at a particular time in our life. Retailers, such as Sainsbury’s could play a critical role to support this, arranging delivery of the needed food within thirty minutes – perhaps by drone.

The authors wrote; adding that AI will help people “only use exactly what we need, with food waste a thing of the past;” and that these “neural laces” will create “an interface between the brain and the machine.”

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

What’s that, a “sin” you say? Now, where have I heard this before?

[1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; [3] Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. [4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: [5] For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. [6] If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

1 Timothy 4:1-6

It’s not a sin to eat meat, the only stipulation being that you are commanded to pray and give thanks for it; but, how twee of them that that would chose the word “sin”? – thus proving the King James Bible true once again, that this command to abstain from meats would be done speaking in lies hypocrisy, fueled by seducing spirits going off about why meat is bad for the environment.

Make no mistake about it: meat and carbon taxes are around the corner; and I reckon another “pandemic” will also be greatly used to help achieve this goal. Furthermore, though some of these auspicious predictions about the future in 2050 and 2169 sound far-out (and the Lord would have resurrected and caught up the body of Christ well before this ever happens), it is my belief that a lot of these things mentioned will come to pass much, much sooner than what they have predicted. By appropriately a lengthy date that far out in advance makes the claims less believable and ignored on purpose.

This blockchain stuff is not so far-fetched as it may sound, as I have reported on some of this in other reports; and it again lends itself to this new tokenization system that is coming, of which I hope to detail further in future reports…

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • Yes, I think much sooner than they are targeting. When thinking about the combination of so many things coming about at one time, has me convinced that Christ will catch us up much sooner than people think. This then makes me think about our close friends and relatives/adult children that are just not paying attention to any of this! Friends that are professed Christians that will not hear the TRUTH about the KJV, still using their DEAD -SATANIC Versions and attending their DEAD – FALSE church buildings, Post Tribers and Calvinist I have ran into….convinced they are saved, but more than likely are not, and have NO CLUE what’s coming, and coming fast! We have tried to give these lost souls the TRUTH, and some we will continue to. But they just do not want to hear it!!! I myself Sin daily, so just continue to Repent and study my KJV Bible (THE ONLY LIVING- SPIRITUAL Word of God!! My wife and I are Humbled that God had chosen us with the other Very few ( like most that read WinePress and lean on Bryan’s sermons) to have the discernment from the Holy Spirit open our eyes and hearts to what’s happening now and what’s to come. I Thank God Daily for both Jacob and Bryan as his Vessels!!

  • You know we cover this stuff extensively all the time, and I do believe it will happen, but are any of us truly prepared (physically speaking) for a diet void of meat? And to actually survive without it? I know I am not, and I refuse to quit eating it until it becomes impossible to obtain

    • I’m not, and I’m not giving it up either. I’ll die before I submit to being a soy boy who eat his crickets and drinks his soy milk everyday. I don’t have all the answers, but will all that is coming to this country in short order, I have prayed and meditated on it a lot, and I have consigned that I’ll probably die. I trust that he can deliver and protect me, and I pray that he does, but for me personally I’ve made peace with God about it. I hope to talk about some of this in a sermon about the blessed and the resurrection I have been holding onto for a long time now. At the end of the day, the Lord will work it all out.
Philippians 1:28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. [29] For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; [30] Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

      • amen brother. and i have a wife and 4 children to take care of. I worry about them with what is coming, but God is in control and I must remember that and stay at peace with what is going to happen. I just pray that he will protect the innocent children especially those of Christian parents. But I do know fierce judgment is coming

        • I hear ya, brother. I’m a bachelor but I still can’t help but have some anxiety about what’s coming; but, I have to keep reminding myself daily to trust and wait on the Lord. If I don’t I’d surely give up.
Psalm 27:12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. [13] I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. [14] Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

    • Well, the Israelites lived off of bread and water. Meat is needed though for vital nutrients.

  • Dude is doing 10-15yrs for eating a steak on Friday, police arrested a older man Friday, after surveillance tape was reviled to them, their unable to find source of the illegal meat contraband which the suspect was found eating. I am joking, but it can happen in this evil world.

This is what will happen if these nutjobs are not stopped!

  • I would like to know WHY they are stopping meat production? So we will die sooner? It is implied in the bible when we leave in the Rapture that those days will be “business as usual” like it was when Lot was sitting at the gate on an ordinary day, so my thoughts/opinion are that we will be leaving this earth before they really get deep into taking the cows, pigs and chickens away from us. I just don’t want to be here to see my children and their children suffer and die. I pray they would come to the Lord, but so far they don’t want to hear anything about HIM or any bad news in the world. They are planning summer vacations and going on about their business like we are in the 1950’s with no problems. At this point, they will be left behind, but like I said, I don’t want to be here to see them suffer. I pray we are NOT. Come quickly Lord Jesus. We want to be with you!

    • The reason the elites want to do away with Meat, is because they are Devils that work for Satan. Satan knows that God’s Word talks about God providing Meat for us.,Satan’s goal of taking away meat, is just one of many many things he is doing to “Mock” God. Per your comments about your children and others not wanting to listen or hear the Truth about Jesus Christ and what’s coming, my wife and I are having the exact same challenges with our children. We have come to a point of realizing…they will more than likely not seek Salvation thus be left behind. So we decided to create a letter that explains the Catching Away ( that society will not even notice), and the Time of Jacob’s Trouble and how that will be their 2nd and last chance to find Salvation. We figure that, if they will not believe us now, they finally will once we are caught up to Heaven. We will be asking them to save and protect the letter and the KJV we will provide them, to read our letter again when they are still here on earth. But our letter will remind them that Salvation is still available TODAY!
