The United Kingdom has implemented a new policy that requires families and farmers to register their poultry flocks, whether they have hundreds or just even one or two in their backyards.
Originally the preexisting law required that poultry keepers of 50 or more birds to file a registration with the government, but this law has been adjusted for any number of birds. A new separate filing was created for people who manage less than 50 birds, which used to be optional.
This applies to all poultry birds, even “any you keep as pets,” the government says, which includes:
- chickens
- turkeys
- aviary birds
- birds of prey
- cassowaries
- ducks
- emus
- geese
- guinea fowls
- kiwis
- ostriches
- partridges
- pheasants
- pigeons
- psittacines (for example parrots, budgies and cockatiels)
- quails
- rheas
Registration information will include things such as the size of the flock, how they are fed and raised, farming systems, other livestock on the farm or backyard, etc.
This law will be implemented in September and October depending on the jurisdiction.
Apparently this new law change is in keeping with an increased national guidance on disease control in lieu of purported spread of avian influenza, according to Farmers Weekly.
The paper said: ‘By registering their birds, keepers will ensure they receive important updates relevant to them, such as local avian disease outbreaks and information on biosecurity rules to help protect their flocks. The register will also be used to identify all bird keepers in disease control zones, allowing for more effective surveillance.’
Since late-2021 a new deadly strain of bird flu, spread across Europe and into the U.S., and really hit the U.K. hard, which eventually prompted the British government to ban ‘free-range’ eggs from the grocery stores.
Timely communication ensures all bird keepers receive important updates and stay informed, amplifying efforts to work together to track and control the spread of avian influenza.
Alongside stringent biosecurity measures, registration is another tool in the toolbox to safeguard bird health.
Richard Griffiths, British Poultry Council chief executive, said
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has been encouraging Americans to register their backyard gardens. It’s not mandatory (yet), but the government is getting the ball rolling. And more recently some silly study that got mainstream press was a propaganda report that alleged conventional farms produce less carbon than backyard ones; which, knowing how these elites work, is them foreshadowing they are most certainly coming after your backyard garden. I mean, they already have control of farms big or small, and insane regulations that go into that, so the backyard vegetable patch and chicken coop is all that is left.
This has nothing to do with health: it’s purely control and consolidation of the food supply, and knowing who owns what and busting their chops about it. ‘Oh, you have ‘X’ number of chickens in your backyard? Looks like we’ll have to up ypur carbon tax and deduct some of your social credit tokens from your digital wallet,’ they’ll eventually be saying.
[1] There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men: [2] A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.
Ecclesiastes 6:1-2 – Now that’s a disease that never goes away, as they toil about “bird flu!”
And of course, the old bird flu ruse rears its ugly head again. I have been warning for some time now, that bird flu seems to be one of the more likely candidates for the inevitable “next pandemic” we keep hearing of, and this is another step perhaps in preparation for that.
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
