German politicians agreed in principle to double the country’s military aid for Ukraine in 2024 as the war shows no sign of ending.

The following report is by The Trends Journal:

“Right now, as Ukraine has to continue its fight and at the same time part of public attention worldwide is directed more toward Israel, this is a strong signal to Ukraine that we won’t leave it in the lurch,” Boris Pistorius, the German defense minister, said, according to Reuters.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, one of Europe’s top anti-Russian hawks, said “our support will be massively expanded for next year.”

The Associated Press, citing the Bild am Sonntag newspaper, reported that Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s coalition aims to increase military aid to Ukraine from 4 billion euros to 8 billion euros. The next step will be the Bundestag’s budget committee to sign off on the plan, which is expected later this week.

Germany has said its increase is not in response to questions about future U.S. funding for Ukraine. Washington has been Kyiv’s biggest weapons provider, The Kyiv Post reported.

“Germany is by overall value the second-largest source of weapons and combat materials to Kyiv, having promised or delivered to Ukraine €17.1 billion of military aid in all forms from late January 2022 to July 2023. Over the same 18-month period, the U.S. delivered or committed about €41.1 billion worth of arms and military supply,” the paper reported.

The paper noted that the U.S. economy is worth about $23.3 trillion annually, which is about five times bigger than Germany.

Berlin has provided Kyiv with tanks, armored vehicles, munitions, and anti-aircraft defense systems, Euronews reported. Germany has led the way by providing Kyiv with advanced weapons, but refused to provide its long-range Taurus missiles.

TRENDPOST: The Trends Journal has long reported that Germany is at war with Russia again.

Scholz used the Russian invasion of Ukraine as his impetus to strengthen his own military. Berlin has already earmarked $107 billion for military projects and will now spend 2 percent of its GDP on its military.

Germany’s latest strategic policy paper released over the summer identified Russia as the most dangerous country in the world after its invasion of Ukraine that flouted “international law and the European security order.”

“With this epochal breach of the European peace order, Russia directly threatens our security and that of our NATO allies and the EU,” the 76-page document read. Berlin said Russia will continue to be the world’s biggest threat to stability “for the foreseeable future, today’s Russia is the greatest threat to peace and security in the Euro-Atlantic area.”

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Apparently Germany didn’t get the memo that Ukraine is now openly losing, and it is no longer taboo and heresy to say that out loud. TIME magazine just a couple of weeks ago did a detailed article that admitted that Ukraine had taken unsustainable losses, running out of ammo and munitions, moral is dead, and the leaders are willing to surrender; but Zelensky, like Hitler, is willing to go down with the sinking ship until the last moment of.

Germany, the richest country in the Eurozone, is also determined to jump off this cliff and bury their country into irrecoverable penury. Germany and NATO’s actions against Russia have done nothing to deter worsen Russia’s economic state, but rather improved Russia’s and destroyed Germany’s.

Germany was already in poor shape before The Covid War was launched, but then that coupled with the habitual support for Ukraine has buried them into obscurity. Germany’s leaders are determined to destroy their own country. Plus, then you factor in their pushes to go “green” and stymie their energy use and cutting off Russia, it’s a recipe for destruction.

As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • I’m starting to think that Ukraine is part of Gog and Magog, I know it’s Russia but is Ukraine part of it? What are your thoughts?

  • Revolving door war effort, Germany’s turn to throw money at a lost cause, like the US, help others and screw over your own country, rinse and repeat

  • Russia current aggressiveness was encouraged by some NATO nations refusal to meet their defense commitment. Germany is a prime example that did not meet its commitment while choosing to be energy dependent on Russia. In essence it was commiting suicide and it has now caught up with them. Remember Germany shut down its own energy production capability while buying nuclear generated power from France?
