Musk Flies To China To Reaffirm Deals To Grow Tesla Brand, Declares He’s Against ‘Decoupling’ China

Elon Musk, richest man in the world and owner of Tesla, landed in China this morning via his private jet to purportedly signal that Musk is not for “decoupling” China, and wants to work more with China to grow the Tesla brand.

Tesla largest operations are in the United States, with China in second with a large manufacturing plant in Shanghai.

According to an official government statement, Elon Musk told Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang in Beijing that Tesla opposes “decoupling” and is willing to invest more in China.

Here are the highlights of the meeting (courtesy of Bloomberg): 

  • Qin told Musk that China’s market for new energy vehicles has broad prospects for development, and the country is committed to developing a business environment for companies from various countries
  • Qin, referring to China-US ties, said it’s important to “get the steering wheel right” and “step on the brakes” in time to avoid “dangerous driving”

Dan Ives, an analyst at Wedbush, shared his thoughts on Musk’s first visit to China in three years. He said the visit comes amid a worsening EV price war and stressed the importance for Tesla to capture a greater market share in China versus domestic competitors. 

 Playing nice in the sandbox in Beijing is something the Street is laser-focused on to make sure there are no disruptions to Tesla’s expansion.

While many other Western companies are rejiggering supply chains out of China, Musk appears to be doing the opposite. 

Musk has given great praise to China before. Before the Twitter buyout Musk was already touting the benefits of the Chinese surveillance state app WeChat, an everything app that the Communist Party in China uses to spy and enforce their social credit system on its people; with Musk saying that he would like to transform Twitter into that or create a new platform identical to it.

Moreover, Musk has also written an article published in Chinse state-owned media that provided great admiration for China’s surveillance.

I mention this because it once again demonstrates the Musk is nothing more than a globalist sellout and new world order stooge. Regular readers of The WP already know this but there are still a ton of people who still think he’s some kind of savior and bastion of free speech, which is just comical.
