After being sidelined for several years due to Covid-19 restrictions, the annual and brightly-colored The Brazilian Carnival began on February 15th and ended on the 25th. During the week a flood ripped through São Paulo, tearing apart homes, ripping apart roads, and caused landslides, and claimed some lives as well.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said in a statement:
Sometimes nature takes us by surprise, but sometimes we also tempt nature. I think it’s important that neither happens.
The Guardian wrote: ‘São Paulo declared a 180-day state of calamity for six cities after what experts termed an unprecedented extreme weather event. Some of the hardest-hit cities under the emergency decree – including São Sebastião, Ubatuba, Ilhabela and Bertioga – cancelled carnival activities as rescuers dug through the rubble and amid fears that the death toll would rise.’
Reuters would later report that 57 people died.
However as Brazilians began to pick themselves out from under the rubble and destruction, videos posted on social media might explain why this deadly flood happened.
The parade featured a float and action by Gavioles de Viel, a renowned Samba school in Rio, who have reportedly pushed the boundaries and have made jabs at God and the Bible while promoting inclusivity, social justice, and gender fluidity.

This year’s theme apparently was meant to mock the creation event and called “Red Paradise,” where Adam and Eve were dressed in bright red garb and whited-out contact lenses. Meanwhile the actor portraying Jesus was suspended dangling from a chain around his neck and shoulders for over an hour.
Sin is something natural to human beings and not a consequence of disobedience.
[This year’s theme represented] religious freedom and intolerance, promoting a unity of all faiths and sexual diversities where people could say “amen.” The school said in a statement
Other floats depicted red bulls and snakes that were meant to receive worship and praise.
However there has been some confusion on social media, as this is not the first time this parade has seen open mockery of Jesus Christ.
A parade that happened in 2019 – falsely attributed to this recent parade – depicted a man dressed as Jesus was bullied, beaten, and speared by Hollywood caricatures of Satan and demonic looking creatures, and other ghoulish creatures who marched behind the Satan character.
Nevertheless, it certainly is not a good look and good thing that is was allowed to happen in the first place.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
After doing some digging I realized some of the people on social media were accidently attributing some of the events of the 2019 performance to the current one. Be that as it may, the blasphemy on display and that has been allowed to be celebrated needs no further comment. And yet Roman Catholic Brazil and the rest of Central and South America cannot understand why they can never get out of their squaller and slums they’ve been reduced to for a long time.
Let this be a lesson to the wicked, for God just might answer you in your folly.
[15] Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden? [16] Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood: [17] Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them? [18] Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me. [19] The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn. [20] Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth. Job 22:15-20
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

God’s judgement is gonna strike Brazil even harder now! And when I say God, I of course mean Jesus Christ.
Such horrible blasphemy mocking our Savior, my Savior, your Savior, who gave us the King James Bible, gives us true repentance, salvation, and power against all the evils of this wicked, cruel, hell-bound world, cleanses us and no matter what wickedness you and I have done He will save us if we call upon His name, and promises you, me, and anybody a place in Heaven and to become part of the Bride of Christ…and Brazil thought it would be a good idea to mock and blaspheme Him in such an open, blatant manner as that atrocious parade…and the Lord Jesus Christ responded with His righteous indignation and hatred with a sandstorm!
They laughed then, and now they cry and scream…and now God is laughing at them!
11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
2 Corinthians 5:11
24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
Proverbs 1: 24-29
God is laughing at Brazil right now, and He’s also laughing at California that’s suffering from floods and heavy snow!
Soon, I pray God’s judgement comes to this satanic city I currently reside in: Laredo, Texas. Roman Catholicism with false christians abound and the city is populated by some of the most vile, most wicked, stupid and unrepentant of sinners! Laredo doesn’t need anymore of this revival crap – it didn’t work then and it won’t work now, what Laredo needs now is death and chaos!
so my first thought was who’s gonna stand up for Jesus and sue all the event organizers? I’ll help in every way i can.
then i remebered the prophetic words or my Lord and said to myself watch and learn how the wicked get themselves scorned as the prophesies come to pass.
they sow blasphemy againstvthe Most High God and then they reap his wrath. no need to do anything as its the Lord’s hand that needs to come down on them just like Sodom and Gomorrah.
I will gladly let hom take his place and watch in obedience unto him that i may not fall into their same sin and gladly fear the Lord for he is all powerful and worthy of all glory and praise! Amen!
Amen and alleluia.
My fear of the Lord has increased, hence why I also love when God sends His judgement.
Another judgment of the Lord for such disgusting mockery!
We have intense rains all over the country during this time of the year due to natural characteristics of the lande since forever, not just since carnival began which was in the beginning of the 20th century
Yes, but this one is an exception. This one was particularly disastrous right after and/or during carnival, and it’s no coincidence (PS: there’s no such thing as coincidences I’ve learned that) it’s God answering them in their folly.
I’ve never been a fan of any type of Spanish culture, but even my “liberal” sister regretted hosting a Brazilian exchange student through the high school her kids attended. That kid was from an upper class of people in Brazil and was used to having servants. It wasn’t long before my sister figured out it should be her kids that should have been guests in that country. It also was not long before that kids spoiled brat nature flared up. They most definitely have caste systems in that country, and that is something that is very foreign from the way I was brought up. I’m also not impressed with a sleazy culture that has no problem with women going topless on the beaches of that country, which is not a new thing in Brazil.
This is also perpetually reinforcing the brainwashing already instilled deep in the minds of people (especially those who are not saved and are still not aware that the long-haired, handsome, feminine-looking “Jesus” in the Roman Catholic paintings is the false Christ ) that Jesus is the long-haired hippie who is everyone’s pal and won’t judge you.
Ya know the ole saying” mess with the bull ya get the horns”. In this case ya mock God, ya get swift destruction and He wipes you out!!!
Touché!
