A team of researchers from China have published the results of a study that examined mosquitoes engineered to disperse a reengineered vaccine to inoculate animals and reduce the risk of zoonotic threats.
The study was published on December 16th, 2022, in the journal Nature Communications titled, “Suppression of flavivirus transmission from animal hosts to mosquitoes with a mosquito-delivered vaccine.”
The team discovered that bites in the wild from GMO mosquitoes triggered a strong and long-lasting immune response. Once the animals were immunized they purportedly resisted infections, which therefore could help in preventing the spread of many diseases such as the Zika virus.
Zoonotic viruses circulate in the natural reservoir and sporadically spill over into human populations, resulting in endemics or pandemics. We previously found that the Chaoyang virus (CYV), an insect-specific flavivirus (ISF), is replication-defective in vertebrate cells.
Here, we develope a proof-of-concept mosquito-delivered vaccine to control the Zika virus (ZIKV) within inaccessible wildlife hosts using CYV as the vector. The vaccine is constructed by replacing the pre-membrane and envelope (prME) proteins of CYV with those of ZIKV, assigned as CYV-ZIKV. CYV-ZIKV replicates efficiently in Aedes mosquitoes and disseminates to the saliva, with no venereal or transovarial transmission observed.
To reduce the risk of CYV-ZIKV leaking into the environment, mosquitoes are X-ray irradiated to ensure 100% infertility, which does not affect the titer of CYV-ZIKV in the saliva. Immunization of mice via CYV-ZIKV-carrying mosquito bites elicites robust and persistent ZIKV-specific immune responses and confers complete protection against ZIKV challenge. Correspondingly, the immunized mice could no longer transmit the challenged ZIKV to naïve mosquitoes. Therefore, immunization with an ISF-vectored vaccine via mosquito bites is feasible to induce herd immunity in wildlife hosts of ZIKV.
Our study provides a future avenue for developing a mosquito-delivered vaccine to eliminate zoonotic viruses in the sylvatic cycle.
The abstract of the study says
Each mouse was then bitten up to three times by 30 separate mosquitoes as a means of simulating conditions in the wild. The team found that the mice acquired a protective immune response after being bitten by the Aedes mosquitoes carrying CYV-ZIKV. The mice were found to then have antibodies that lasted over 5 months.
The mice were then injected with the normal deadly doses of Zika, and the vaxxed mice were then found to be protected against the infection. It was also found that the immunization generated in the mice stopped transmission of the Zika virus from mice back to the mosquitoes.
To prevent the risk these GMO mosquitoes from could spread to natural mosquitoes, the lab mosquitoes were x-ray irradiated to make them infertile.
Targeted immunisation of wild animal reservoirs is a promising approach, not only for control of zoonotic diseases infecting domestic animals and humans, but also for protection of endangered wildlife, such as ruffed grouse decreased by West Nile virus.
Our study provides a future avenue for developing a mosquito-delivered vaccine for wildlife immunisation.

Mosquitoes modified to carry vaccines have been long in the works. The WinePress reported in May of 2021 that 1 million GMO mosquitoes were released into the wild in select areas of Florida to eliminate other species of mosquito – a company that Bill Gates has invested in. A similar venture was deployed in California last year for an identical purpose.
Furthermore a man allowed himself to be bitten by hundreds of modified mosquitoes nicknamed “small flying syringes” to inoculate the subject against Malaria.

Just yesterday I reported on the USDA’s approval of the world’s first-ever vaccine for honeybees, which I can’t help but think is only going to end badly as these infected bees begin to pollinate, and as the residue spews out into the honey, assuming the vaxxed bees don’t die-off sooner than normal.

Now, give it some more time – these mosquitoes in this study are designed to stop zoonotic diseases and inoculate animals – I simply cannot help but wonder when, not if, but when these death mosquitoes are unleashed, just how much damage will it do?
I have warned for a while that vaccines will be used to cull-off tons of livestock and animals to get people stop eating meat. This could be yet another way of doing that…

This is stupid on so many levels. I don’t think that mosquitoes just bite once, but even if they do, they come in swarms. They don’t ‘just’ bite animals, either. Lyme disease carrying ticks were bad enough….and the natural fallen stuff like malaria, yellow fever etc.

Remember that mosquitoes & all blood-attracted insects are attracted to type O (which we can’t do anything about, but cover up & repel as much as possible) blood, to light-colored skin & clothing, & for some reason to the blood of people full of sugar& the processed fats of processed foods. Remember also that certain essential oils or plain old herbal tinctures, steeped in water, pulled out into oils…repel insects to a certain extent: tea tree, lavender, clove, ylang-ylang, orange, anise, etc…there are more, & due to God’s mercy & provision, their dispersion is such that there tends to be at least one native & fairly abundant, available, to those with the knowledge to use them.
