The city of Haarlem near Amsterdam in The Netherlands has now banned advertisers from promoting meats in their marketing beginning in 2024, in a bid to reduce consumption of meats in the country to minimize emissions.
Haarlem is home to approximately 160,000 residents.
The new law prohibits displaying intensively farmed meat on TV screens, buses, shelters and other public buildings. GroenLinks (Green-Left) city councilor Ziggy Klazes even explained that “as far as I’m concerned that includes ads from fast food chains.”
She told Dutch media RTL Nieuws,
It will be the first city in the Netherlands – and in fact Europe and indeed the world – to ban ”bad” meat ads in public places.
Producing non-organic meat is very harmful to the climate. We take this very seriously.
[It is against the law to] earn money by renting the city’s public space to products which accelerate global warming. We want to do what is in our power locally and do not want to tempt people to make choices that are bad for the environment. We believe that a kilo of pork for a few euros is really no longer acceptable at this time. It is too heavy a burden on the environment.
However, Dutch outlet Trouw reported that she lumped all meats all together as being bad, writing, “Meat is just as harmful to the environment,” she purportedly stated.
Moreover, she told Haarlem105 radio:
We are not about what people are baking and roasting in their own kitchen; if people wanted to continue eating meat, fine … We can’t tell people there’s a climate crisis and encourage them to buy products that are part of the cause.
Of course, there are a lot of people who find the decision outrageous and patronizing, but there are also a lot of people who think it’s fine.
It is a signal – if it is picked up nationally, that would only be very nice. There are many groups of GroenLinks who think it is a good idea and want to try it.
It is currently unclear if organic meat ads will be eventually outlawed as well.
‘The move was approved by the city council in November, but went unnoticed until last week when a councilor announced he had officially notified advertising agencies,’ the Daily Mail added.
Sander van den Raadt, leader of the Trots Haarlem group, is opposed to this move, as are others. In response to the bill, the council member made posters for a “proud of meat” campaign to ridicule the bill. He also ‘has decided to raffle a fully catered barbecue among the person who makes the most beautiful meat product poster, he informs Haarlem105.’

With this ban on advertising meat, all meat products are lumped together. Freedom of expression is also being increasingly restricted.
The motion only states to talk to the operator of the advertisements in the Haarlem bus shelters.
It is remarkable that the municipality of Haarlem is holding a large poster campaign that you can be yourself in Haarlem and love whoever you want. But if you like meat instead of soft grass, ‘the patronage brigade’ will come and tell you that you are completely wrong.
Sander van den Raadt told Haarlem105
The WinePress reported last month that plant-based and faux meats are reportedly cheaper than the real thing in The Netherlands, as inflation and supply chain problems continue to force prices higher, as the fake meat companies are attempting to undercut the higher prices:
Moreover, The WP has detailed the prolonged protests, demonstrations, and blockades by Dutch farmers and protestors, who are being forced to cull most of their herds and sequester their lands in order to achieve the nation’s climate goals by 2030:
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
Prophecy is being fulfilled once again:
[1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; [3] Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. [4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: [5] For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.1 Timothy 4:1-5
Of course, the hypocrisy and lying is on display once again. Yes, it is true that the conventional-feedlot cattle and agricultural practices are bad for the environment, along with the quality of the meat being significantly worse; but then this nutty woman in her folly lumps them all together and then pretends to separate the two. CLEARLY, the end goal is to ban and eradicate the consumption of all meats if they can pull it off.
Words of wisdom: you don’t have to have a good memory if you’re honest and tell the truth.
[5] The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. [17] He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. [20] Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.Proverbs 12:5, 12, 20
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
