Just two days after California passed a bill that bans the sale of all new gas-powered vehicles by 2035, it was revealed that Virginia, Washington, and Massachusetts will be doing the same thing.

In 2021 former Governor Ralph Northam passed a bill that mandates that the state follow California’s state emissions regulations.

A spokesperson for Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares’ office said in a statement to Fox 5 DC,

In 2021, Governor Northam and the far-left controlled General Assembly signed a law that binds Virginia to California’s emission vehicle regulations, which, among other things, bans the sale of gas-powered cars in Virginia by 2035.

The Attorney General is hopeful that the General Assembly repeals this law and discontinues any trend that makes Virginia more like California. Unelected California bureaucrats should not be dictating the will of Virginians.

Similar to Virginia, Massachusetts and Washington already had existing laws on the books that would emulate California’s regulations.

This is a critical milestone in our climate fight. Washington set in law a goal for all new car sales to be zero emissions by 2030 and we’re ready to adopt California’s regs by end of this year. Inslee tweeted ahead of (The California Air Resources Board) CARB’s final decision.

Washington Governor Jay Inslee said in a tweet prior to CARB’s official announcement.

But these three states are only the ones, besides California, that have officially announced they will be following in California’s foot steps.

Fox Business adds, ‘Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont and Washington D.C., currently follow CARB rules on car emissions, but they have not yet officially announced electric car mandates.’

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.

Proverbs 22:16

As I explained in my initial report on California’s move, the ploy is designed to further accelerate the destruction the economy and the middle class. Now that there are other states across the country doing this, with more probably to follow, many states are going to have to follow in tow due to the auto manufacturers abiding by these new regulations.

I wrote,

The sole purpose of this move is to further accelerate the economic destruction in this country, and overloading the grid, that’s it. This nation will not even be around long enough for them to be fulfilled. Moreover, The WinePress has already noted many times over that the real goal by 2030 is a flat-out elimination of the private ownership of any vehicle, per an essay from the World Economic Forum:

Welcome to the year 2030. Welcome to my city – or should I say, “our city”. I don’t own anything. I don’t own a car. I don’t own a house. I don’t own any appliances or any clothes.

It might seem odd to you, but it makes perfect sense for us in this city. Everything you considered a product, has now become a service. We have access to transportation, accommodation, food and all the things we need in our daily lives. One by one all these things became free, so it ended up not making sense for us to own much.

First communication became digitized and free to everyone. Then, when clean energy became free, things started to move quickly. Transportation dropped dramatically in price. It made no sense for us to own cars anymore, because we could call a driverless vehicle or a flying car for longer journeys within minutes. We started transporting ourselves in a much more organized and coordinated way when public transport became easier, quicker and more convenient than the car. Now I can hardly believe that we accepted congestion and traffic jams, not to mention the air pollution from combustion engines. What were we thinking?

Moreover, The WP has noted how the United Nations and other countries are already looking to ban private ownership of vehicles, and get all used vehicles off the streets completely.

This will surely spread to other states as car manufacturers will really start to devote their scarce resources into developing these cars. Give it some time and they’ll be begging the government for more money to pay for the costs of it – which means you’ll be paying for a car you’ll never own.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
