It is called the Future Transport Strategy, which presents a ‘congestion tax,’ the Australian media calls it, ‘designed to encourage more Sydney drivers to swap their cars for bikes when motoring around the CBD.’
Currently, road users do not pay the true costs of driving… charging for road use at certain locations or times can encourage customers… to choose other options.
The documents said
In the city of Sydney, driver’s distancing will be monitored by GPS, and ‘a ring of cameras’ that will be filming from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and noon to 6pm on the weekends.
The new arrangement would see drivers in Sydney charged almost 3 cents for every kilometer on the road, monitored via GPS.

The former banker and member of the Roman Catholic secret society Opus Dei, NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet is very much interested in this proposal, and wishes to reduce the tax to 2.5 cents for those who use an electric vehicle into 2027, as a way to counterbalance not paying a tax on gas.

But when asked about a congestion tax charging drivers for being in the city, a separate edict contained in the draft documents, Perrottet claimed he never even saw the documents.
On top of that, these proposed regulations would also present new speed limits, like driving kilometers per hour in zoned neighborhoods and other local areas.
The documents reveal that the governments is considering building a new rail system that would connect the capital of Canberra to Paramatta.
These new proposals are aligned with the International Energy Agency recommendations to reduce oil use, along with things like “car-free Sundays” – goals which all are aligned with the World Economic Forum’s same vision.
