The popular alternative search engine, Duck Duck Go – an engine designed to compete against giants like Google, and emphasizing privacy and no digital profiling – is now joining the censorship club.
Duck Duck Go’s founder and CEO Gabriel Weinberg announced in a string of posts on social media that the search engine will now burry websites that post and promote what the company deems “Russian Disinformation.”
Like so many others I am sickened by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the gigantic humanitarian crisis it continues to create. #StandWithUkraine️
At DuckDuckGo, we’ve been rolling out search updates that down-rank sites associated with Russian disinformation.
In addition to down-ranking sites associated with disinformation, we also often place news modules and information boxes at the top of DuckDuckGo search results (where they are seen and clicked the most) to highlight quality information for rapidly unfolding topics.
DuckDuckGo’s mission is to make simple privacy protection accessible to all. Privacy is a human right and transcends politics, which is why about 100 million people around the world use DuckDuckGo. (We don’t have an exact count since we don’t track people.)

One Twitter user replied to Weinberg, and said, “The whole point of DuckDuckGo is for you to NOT do that.”
Weinberg responded with,
The whole point of DuckDuckGo is privacy. The whole point of the search engine is to show more relevant content over less relevant content, and that is what we continue to do.
Needless to say, users were very frustrated and disappointed by the announcement.

Now it’s Duck Duck NO!
The fact that Duck Duck Go was being included in “the club” for several years now, and was openly endorsed by Twitter’s Jack Dorsey, speaks for itself. Moreover, one YouTuber points out that the search engine supports and funds progressive groups and charities, which is not much of a surprise to me.
There is no perfect browser on the internet. Like it or not, the reality is, everything we do is tracked and databased. Just because they say they do not means jack-diddly squat.
And so now the push to further control the narrative is continuing, and is the same tactics to a ‘T’ that were and are used for the shamdemic. Unfortunately, most of the views and search results The WinePress receives come from Duck Duck Go. And with these big-tech tyrants cracking down once again, I would not be surprised if The WP gets buried in the process. Therefore, I ask that you please continue to share the site with as many people as you can, so people can find the site regardless.

Plus I don’t like the CEOs attitude that he is sickened by Russia invading Ukraine. Russia has valid reasons for taking the action they did. This CEO does not share my values and I no longer want to use his product.

I actually heard about this yesterday. Ditched them immediately. Brave browser has a ‘pro-privacy’ search engine called “Brave Search” (you can get it on any browser as well), so I switched to that instead. Of course, they will eventually give in too, I’m sure, but might as well use it for now I guess.
They’re all skewed. The tell-tale sign is Rome’s facelift & revised history no matter what you search historically. They’re being positioned as the ‘keepers’ & ‘interpreters’ of the word, the salvation of the world from the Dark Ages, the judges of ‘official’ & ‘certified’ ‘Christianity’…ecumenical & merging w/ anything & everything. That Republican guy’s warped comment pretty aptly describes the attitude of those who pragmatically go along with it. The authorities all over are waxing worse & worse. The public is not pleased about rising prices, & all the censorship cannot stop or redirect the flow of information whether good or bad for knowledge shall be increased.
I caught DuckDuckGo censoring the word “Jesus” in their search auto-fill suggestions (the suggestions that appear as you type in the search bar) a while ago. No suggestions would appear when typing Jesus except for the word jesuit (which is very insulting to any knowledgeable saved Christian who knows the Vatican/Jesuits/ Catholic Church organization is the great whore mentioned in the Bible in Book Revelations Chapter 17 KJV, basically the Vatican and Jesuits not only don’t listen to God, they work against God).
I tried many other names in the search bar (Moses, Mohamed, Buddha, and even Satan) and they would all gives a very large number of results, but only one insult when typing Jesus… DuckDuckGo has been evil and playing with results for a long time…
So at that time, I wrote to DuckDuckGo and told them that this couldn’t happen unless their searcher was specifically programmed to do so… Basically it couldn’t be a fluke… It could only be programmed to do so if their searcher would do it for one entry and not others. I asked them to correct and tell me why they would do this…
They basically answered something like: “Oups, how’d that happen… Not sure how this could happen…”
They corrected it and confirmed that they corrected it (it no longer does this at this time), I insisted they still answer my question as to how this could happen without it being programmed to do so. They never answered back… So I told them I hope they find Jesus Christ.
I still have the emails of my exchanges with DuckDuckGo proving what I’m saying (them acknowledging in writing the “issue”)… They are not to be trusted, they are probably a controlled opposition.
