More layers surrounding the Russia-Ukraine calamity have been added.
Reportedly, cyber attacks purported to be from the Russians have been on-going for these past days.
But today Ukrinform reported that a massive DDoS attack was dispatched against Ukrainian government websites.
Another mass distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack on Ukraine’s government websites started at about 16:00 local time. We have relevant data from a number of banks, there are also problems with access to the websites of the Verkhovna Rada (already in operation), the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is due to the switch to another provider to minimize the damage from the attack.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said on Telegram
Fedorov says the portal and the Diia mobile application municipal services withstand the latest attacks and worked normally.
In order to prevent a DDoS attack on the official website of the Ministry of Education and Science from 16:30 on February 23, scheduled technical work will be carried out. Pending these works, the site will be temporarily unavailable.
The Ministry of Education and Science stated
Ukrinform notes that other cyber attacks have hailed against the nation last week, and another in mid-January.
However, on the 19th, prior to this currently reported cyber attack, Russian ambassadors in the U.S. denied Russia’s involvement with these purported attacks.
We categorically reject these baseless statements of the administration and note that Russia has nothing to do with the mentioned events and in principle has never conducted and does not conduct any ‘malicious’ operations in cyberspace.

Interestingly enough, U.S. media outlet The Hill published an article on the 12th of this month, titled “US cyber defense agency warns of possible Russian cyberattacks amid tensions.”
Putin Orders More Troops To Separatist States
Putin had already announced that some Russian forces would be sent to the separatist states of Donetsk and Lugansk to ‘peace keep.’ But now more military forces are being sent to the regions due to reported growing hostilities.
In response to what Russia claims is increased “Ukrainian aggression,” President Vladimir Putin announced that the military has been ordered to perform a special operation in the Donbass region.
Circumstances require us to take decisive and immediate action. The People’s Republics of Donbass turned to Russia with a request for help.
In this regard, in accordance with Article 51, part 7 of the UN Charter, with the sanction of the Federation Council and in pursuance of the friendship treaties ratified by the Federal Assembly and mutual assistance with the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, I have decided to conduct a special military operation.
Putin additionally noted, according to RT, he would like to “demilitarize” and “de-Nazify” Ukraine. “We have no plans to occupy Ukrainian territory,” he stated.
‘Within moments of the speech, a series of explosions were reported in cities across Ukraine, with a CNN purporting to hear a blast in the capital, Kiev,’ RT added.
U.S. President Biden, on the other hand, again spoke out against Russia’s tactics, claiming that Putin’s move will lead to a “catastrophic loss of life and human suffering,” per a “premeditated war,” Biden asserts.
Moreover, he called upon the world and its leaders to hold Moscow accountable for “the death and destruction.”
The prayers of the world are with the people of Ukraine tonight as they suffer an unprovoked and unjustified attack by the Russian military forces.
War Drum Beaten, Maybe
But now it is being reported that a full-scale assault is being launched.
Dmitry Kuleba, Kiev’s foreign minister, says war has now finally broken out.
[Putin] has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.Peaceful Ukrainian cities are under strikes. This is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend itself and will win. The world can and must stop Putin. The time to act is now.
However, even though the media [at the time of this publication] is bouncing off the walls and scaring the masses, live sky-view cameras in Kiev are depicting something else: nothing. It appears to be just another “day at the office” for the people at Kiev; even though Western media is claiming that there are missile strikes galore.

“The Economic Ninja” also started a livestream when first hearing the news, and was immediately skeptical of what the media was presenting.
However, all of this is not stopping Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from declaring marital law as a result.

Explosions were heard in many cities of Ukraine. We are imposing martial law on all territories of our state. A minute ago, I had a conversation with President Biden. Looks like a total dog and pony show war in the media. The live cam footage makes it clear nothing is happening, and the people (at the time I am posting this), look totally unfazed and are carrying on with their daily activities and going to work.
