De Cleene of the World Economic Forum, announced a new digital and data coalition to use technologies “to their fullest potential.” This means the creation of a digital map of the world that connects small ag-businesses, digital service providers, policy makers, and other persons together.

Last week, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the United States pledged almost $11 billion over the next 5 years at the first-ever UN Food Systems Summit, to make worldwide food production and consumption healthier, more environmentally-friendly, and more equitable.

Earlier this year, The WinePress reported on multiple nations pledging to radically transform the global food systems – spearheaded by the Vatican – ahead of this most recent summit.

According to AgFunder News, this virtual event was apart of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, ‘was the culmination of an 18-month process that included hundreds of dialogues with various stakeholders all over the world.’

Even though tens of thousands from just shy of 200 nations tuned it, many also spoke out and boycotted the event – primarily smaller civil society groups and grassroots organizations, who held counter-events to raise awareness on the importance of smallholder farmers, that were opposed to the many corporations and their influence at the UN summit.

We need food systems that support the health and wellbeing of all people. Malnutrition, hunger, and famine are not forces of nature – they are the result of the actions, or inactions, of all of us.

UN Secretary General António Guterres said in a speech at the summit.

Furthermore, he also presented a larger statement calling for more investment in science and innovation to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals

It’s the first UN conference I felt, as a young person, properly included in.

It brought so many young people and youth organizations together and supported the creation of many new youth movements such as the Act4FoodAct4Change campaign which, by the day of the summit, had over 100,000 pledges from youth and allies of youth.

The way things are going currently I do not believe we will be on track to transform in a meaningful way. We need action and we need it urgently.

Sophie Healy-Thow, co-chair of the Food Systems Summit’s Youth Liaison group, told AgFunder News

The US pledged $10 billion to food systems transformation, with half to be spent domestically and the other half globally through USAID’s Feed the Future initiative. The latter includes $60 million in new research awards to reduce food loss and waste, $38 million to expand food fortification, and a virtual fellowship programme for female policymakers in Africa,’ explained AgFunder News.

The Gates Foundation’s pledged $922 million towards combating and reducing malnutrition around the world. Bill’s ex-wife Melinda said this was “the largest commitment” their organization has made in this field.

On top of that, the Gates Foundation, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization – plus a dozen other nations such as Japan, Kenya, Bangladesh, Finland – have joined the high-profile joint initiative started by the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates, called the Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate (AIM4C). This will be officially launched at the COP26 UN Climate conference beginning on Halloween. Pope Francis and other faith leaders recently made their own pledges prior to this meeting.

[Governments need to] allocate 1% of the proportion of [their] GDP that relates to food systems, to innovation and R&D.

Sean de Cleene, a member of the executive committee at the World Economic Forum and co-chair of the ‘Innovation’ part of the Food Systems Summit’s ‘Levers of Change’ workstream

Furthermore, de Cleene announced a new digital and data coalition to use technologies “to their fullest potential.” This means the creation of a digital map of the world that connects small ag-businesses, digital service providers, policy makers, and other persons together.

Bill Gates Funds Hundreds Of Millions Into Dutch e-Grocer And Other Ag-Tech

Not long after this event, other international corporations made pledges and commitments to help the world reach zero emissions.

McDonald’s recently announced that they will join the UN Race to Zero campaign, and will be working with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to achieve zero carbon emissions by the year 2050.

This means the international fast-food giant will be working harder to lower their emissions across their tens of thousands of locations globally by the year 2030.

These new steps will effect their energy sources to their beef supply, the company stated in a corporate blog post.

In pursuit of a 1.5°C future, McDonald’s will increase the emissions reduction levels in its existing 2030 science-based target across all scopes of emissions in line with developing SBTi best practices and will set a long-term reduction target to reach net zero emissions.

A global net zero emissions commitment requires system-wide decarbonization, and McDonald’s is working with market business teams, franchisees, suppliers and other partners to convert ambition to action to impact …

The blog post states

We believe we have both a privilege and a responsibility to help lead on issues that matter most in communities – and there is no issue more urgent globally and of impact locally than protecting our planet for generations to come. By committing to net zero through the SBTi’s Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign, we are helping every community we serve mitigate the impacts of climate change and adapt for the future.

Chris Kempczinski, McDonald’s President and Chief Executive Officer

And it didn’t take much longer for another large corporation to make identical pledges to rid of carbon emissions by 2050.

The food and candy giant Mars – known for many famous candies, gums and snacks; such as, M&M’s, Skittles, Starburst, Altoids, Combos, Juicy Fruit, etc. – is also joining the Science Based Targets Initiative‘s ‘Business Ambition for 1.5C’ pledge and the UN’s Race to Zero.

The company will be focusing on three specifics: influence their over 20,000 suppliers to set their own climate-based goals, a commitment to eliminate deforestation, and reduce emissions by linking executive pay to delivery.

More than three quarters of our impacts are embedded in the materials that we purchase – so we must change what we buy or where we buy it [or] how we buy it.

It is also clear that further transformation of agriculture is needed. We will push the boundaries of what is possible through regenerative agriculture, and this will require […] deeper and more integrated partnerships with our suppliers, and stronger government frameworks that incentivize sustainable practices.

Barry Parkin, Mars chief sustainability and procurement officer, said in a press release

The WinePress has been reporting on these many worldwide initiatives and goals for some time. It’s no “conspiracy:” it’s happening in broad daylight and the masses have absolutely no clue what’s transpiring.

[16] Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. [17] Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

Jeremiah 6:16-17

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • To make it easier for these oppressors to “siege” any nation or city they want, to surrender to their will. Bring famine on a country and the unsaved masses will obey.

One of the most difficult struggles is to leave the cities now and to expect harder times outside the “conveniences” of cities, especially living in places with -40 degress celsius winters like here, but we have so many warnings in the bible to do this. Easier for us to get rounded up, being bunched up in cities.

Famines as it happened in the past, which also the Lord let to come to pass.

    2 Kings 6:24-29
24 And it came to pass after this, that Ben-hadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria. 25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver. 26 And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. 27 And he said, If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress? 28 And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. 29 So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

      • I just link it to send people that way. The website is also good for looking up a word and it shows all of the verses that have that word.

But, the book is still the best.
