On Monday, March 22nd, it was announced the donut franchise Krispy Kreme would be incentivizing all Covid vaccine recipients with one free glazed donut each day all throughout the rest of 2021.
As some jumped for joy and rushed to get their free donut, many laughed and mocked at the incentive.
Even Stephen Colbert of CBS’ The Late Show poked fun at the gimmick.
Many pointed out the fact that obesity is one of the main culprits that lead to greater risks of contracting Covid, so by offering an unhealthy treat it is counterintuitive to the goal of getting healthier, was the premise of the argument.
Today, CEO of Krispy Kreme Mike Tattersfield responded to some of the criticisms in a Yahoo News interview.
We’re a sweet treat company, [and] if folks don’t want to visit a donut shop, they don’t have to.
[If] folks that want to get a vaccine, if they decide to combine a Krispy Kreme pickup [for] a doughnut, they can. That’s how we look at it…. generosity.Mike Tattersfield
Last March, Krispy Kreme launched a similar initiative in response to the pandemic. It allowed all healthcare workers to receive a free dozen of its original glazed donut. Tattersfield says the initiatives have been well received by the community, according to the report by Yahoo.
I drop off a lot of doughnuts to the healthcare system. They’re very appreciative, given the days that they have to work…people are always looking for a little sweet treat break. It’s okay.
Tattersfield noted that they attracted more customers than originally forecast noting that hungry, bargain-hunting consumers purchased donuts last year, and are expecting a similar turnout.
Last year, we gave away 30 million doughnuts.. we didn’t come into the year thinking that we’re going to do 30 million doughnuts from giveaway.

We’ve always done fundraising and had some type of give back to the community. The majority of the United States is a company owned system, so we pick up the tab.
The CEO assured listeners that the company is simply trying to be generous, and that many healthcare workers would purchase boxes of donuts and that eventually the increased traffic will increase sales and pay for the rest of the free donuts.

As we have previously reported, America was already the heavyweight champs of the world and they continually keep getting heavier. I mean, I cannot begin to fathom eating one of those poison pastries a day. I have been so far removed from that garbage I do not see how I could ever go back to that life of obesity and terrible health.
I also found out the other day that Krispy Kreme is owned by a company called JAB Holding Company. So a company called JAB owns a poison pastry franchise that incentives customers with donuts if they get the Covid jab. But then when you dig even deeper, JAB holding company is owned by Reimann. According to a snippet from a Business Insider article in 2019, it says,
The billionaire Reimann family, which owns JAB Holding Company, says it’s donating more than $11 million to charity after uncovering the extent of its ancestors’ Nazi activity. JAB Holding owns brands including Keurig, Panera, Krispy Kreme, and Pret a Manger.
Yes, the people at the top were affilitated with Nazis! How quaint.
And when the news of this free incentive was announced on Monday, NBC’s Today Show gave some of the best free advertising for Krispy Kreme. Al Roker repeatedly, and other hosts, made loud grunting noises to make it sound like the donut was so delicious, and rhetorically asking in a beaming fashion ‘How do they make their donuts so tasty?’ Absolutely sickening.
