They VR and metaverse push is being ushered in at a blistering pace, and now one man in South Bend, Indiana, has opened a new arcade centered around virtual reality gaming and therapeutic experiences.
Adell Badgett, with the partnership of his niece, Adell Badgett, have opened Dellstar VR in downtown South Bend.
Reported by the South Bend Tribune, Badgett, while enjoyed playing and growing up with video games in the 90’s, said he is much more interested in the technical side of gaming. His vision for the company began when he purchased a VR headset for his son in 2019, and then learned more about the potential opportunities and tech behind it.
You know how the internet is, they send you all this related stuff because they have your information.
I was seeing all this information popping up on my feed, so I am seeing how it is progressing and how it is becoming more affordable.
We want to keep it steady, but the people who have come have had a really good time. We are trying to focus on hosting birthday parties, where people rent the space for two hours and we order pizza […] and they get a whole cooler of drinks. We are trying to offer an experience.

‘Beyond gaming, Badgett now wants to take another step. After opening the arcade, he soon realized that VR could be a way to connect people in communities with a dearth of mental health services to providers of those services,’ the SBT writes.
This epiphany came from his own struggles as a child with depression and anxiety. He also says it has been difficult to find Black therapists that have the ability ‘provide culturally sensitive treatment but was eventually able to locate one in South Bend.’
Badgett started using VR for exercises to deal with stress. He and his therapists also have communicated via VR, created avatars for themselves, and conducted counseling sessions that way.
The environment that we went into was like a loft space with a fireplace and sectional couch. The lighting was dimmed down and it was a Zen type of environment.
He explained of his experiences
The therapy aspect of his business is not ready yet, but he still feels that the potential and need is certainly there.
It can be hard to get kids to open up. But if you put them in a different kind of environment, like out in space or sitting on a train or doing something that they like to do, now you have a chance to get them to open up.
The SBT cited an article from the New York Times that asserts that VR technology can harness the ability to cope with stress and other disorders, and will increase as this tech expands across the nation and becomes cheaper overtime.
However, The WinePress has cited other studies that show that VR has noticeable health effects associated with using it.
Even a computer scientist who worked on the original VR systems has openly warned people that the coming metaverse – digitized interconnected worlds per augmented reality systems – will blur the lines of actual reality and cause it to “disappear.”
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
I would presume that these types of businesses will do rather well, as, The WinePress has reported that the metaverse is not artificial, it is indeed a real reality that is coming at blistering speeds.
Howbeit, the masses are completely blind to what this metaverse will be all about, as it is no doubt a major component of the antichrist system in the not too distance future.
Regular readers of The WP know that I was alerting people that more and more “studies” would be coming out, to show all the “benefits” for gaming and virtual reality; completely throwing out the evidence from years past that showed they are by no means good for you.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
