Whole Foods, the large grocery-store chain owned by Amazon, is set to open two new stores without a single cashier next year.
According to the Associated Press, Amazon will be bringing its cashier-less tech to Whole Food stores, ‘letting shoppers grab what they need and leave without having to open their wallets. Cameras and sensors track what’s taken off shelves. Items are charged to an Amazon account after customers leave the store with them.’
It is called “Just Walk Out.”
However, these two stores will have some self-checkout lanes available to take cash, gift cards, and other payment types.
Amazon’s cashier-less technology was first debuted in 2018 at a single Amazon Go convenience store, which later expanded into larger Amazon supermarkets.
The two new stores will open up at Washington D.C., and Sherman Oaks, California. They will have the same products as any other ordinary store.
The company said the same amount of employees will be hired, but will be utilized for more aisle work assisting customers and working behind counters.
Amazon has not announced that this technology will expand to other stores.
In March The WinePress reported on the growing use of Amazon’s contactless payment that utilizes palm readings. This tech is not reported to be used in these new stores, but are services Amazon does offer.

The mark of the beast technology continues to slowly grow…
[16] And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: [17] And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.Revelation 13:16-18
Of course, this will replace employees very quickly. What business will pay for employees to stand around and do nothing? Exactly. All part of this “4th Industrial Revolution.”

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
