“The Delta variant is spreading fast and wide, throwing our state into a level of crisis we have not yet seen in the pandemic. Masks are a quick and simple tool we can immediately deploy to protect ourselves and our families.”

Oregon is reinstating their mask mandates, more specifically: wearing masks outdoors, said Governor Kate Brown. This is the first state in the U.S. to reinstate such a mandate.

Even if you are older than 5, regardless of vaccination status, all residents must wear a face mask outdoors.

‘The policy doesn’t apply to fleeting encounters when people pass each other on the street or a trail, and it doesn’t cover private gatherings. Brown, however, recommended that Oregonians wear masks when gathered at home with visitors from multiple households, says the Huffington Post.

Brown reinstated the mask mandate for indoor establishments two weeks ago, again, regardless if residents are vaccinated.

These new orders are effective immediately this Friday, August 27th.

The Delta variant is spreading fast and wide, throwing our state into a level of crisis we have not yet seen in the pandemic. Masks are a quick and simple tool we can immediately deploy to protect ourselves and our families.

The combination of vaccines and masks is the most powerful way we can fight this latest surge of COVID-19 and save lives. Vaccination continues to be the best way you can protect yourself and your family from the Delta variant, and the most effective way we can help our exhausted nurses and doctors, who are working around the clock to treat Oregonians sick with COVID in our ICUs.

If we all do our part, we can beat COVID-19 once and for all, keep our economy open and thriving, and return our kids to the classroom with minimal disruptions in a few weeks.

As of yesterday, USA Facts reports that 61% of Oregon has received at least one dose, and 57% are considered fully vaccinated.

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Proverbs 15:2

Since Oregon is a part of the liberal Looney-Tune parade, most people will not be fighting back against this lunacy. But, the King James Bible says “the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness (Proverbs 15:14): so that is not much of a surprise.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
