Two days ago The WinePress reported that the eviction moratorium in America had officially come to an end, leaving millions in a state of limbo with potentially nowhere to go but the streets.
In that report it was noted that these moratoriums could easily be reinstated. And now they have.
According to the Wall Street Journal, last night President Biden officially announced a brand new federal moratorium on evictions. Though the CDC and other government bodies had made it clear that there would be no more eviction bans prior, progressives in D.C. were on Biden’s case to do something.
This new moratorium now covers over 80% of counties in America, and it is geared towards regions that have experienced “substantial or high” levels of infection and transmission of Covid, according to the CDC.
Roughly $47 billion that was designated to rental assistance to aid tenets to get them through the effects of the lockdowns. This new mandate seeks to give more time for that money to be dispersed, as only about $3 billion of that money has been distributed since June 30th.
I asked the CDC to go back and consider other options.
President Biden
The President noted, “I don’t know” if this new move is constitutional, but said a legal fight that is likely to happen will allow more time for the money to be distributed.
The CDC announced that this new moratorium will last until October 3rd, “but is subject to further extension, modification, or rescission based on public health circumstances.”
‘Tuesday’s decision marks a sharp turnabout for the White House. Administration officials said Monday that Mr. Biden on Sunday had asked the CDC to come up with a new, 30-day eviction moratorium focused on areas with high Covid-19 rates, rather than the monthslong options previously proposed. But the White House said the CDC said it hadn’t found the legal authority for that action, and signaled it was loath to take an action that could lead to the Supreme Court striking down its public-health powers,’ explains the WSJ.
Biden even admits it’s unconstitutional! Lawless.
Senator Tom Cotton from Arkansas, said of Biden
Representative Cori Bush of Missouri protested outside the Capitol building all day, including sleeping outside for the night, to represent the challenges that homeless American’s face.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York congratulated her and said:
You are great! You did this! One person did this!
This is why this happened. Being unapologetic. Being unafraid.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY
[26] Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts. [27] If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?Proverbs 22:26-27
Truthfully, I actually thought they were going to let a lot of these people be thrown to the wolves and then let the state governments pick up the pieces. But it is not really surprising that the government is once again extending this.
It isn’t amazing (putting aside the idea that this might be right or wrong to do), that a group of unelected MEDICAL officials can decide what happens with housing and real estate?
But anyways, as I have noted before about these moratoriums and benefits: it’s a darned if you do, darned if you don’t quagmire. If you extend the moratoriums in their current setup, then the landlords get squeezed out of cash they need to feed their families, while prohibiting many (not all) to spend the money that would have gone to bills to be spent on other junk and keeping them in debt. Either way, people are losing money.
But if you don’t extend the moratoriums, millions more will flood into the streets going hungry and homeless, food lines skyrocket even higher; drugs, thefts, abuse, neglect, malnourishment all increase; and the taxpayer (just as with the first option) gets to pay higher taxes and bills to get these people off the street – which really means all the rich criminals in the state government and corporations will get all the money, and more fall into poverty.
It’s a lose-lose situation that cannot be fixed, unless it involves the bigs buying it up.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

I believe this is part of the overall plan to reduce and eventually end private property ownership. If landlords are forced to continue letting tenants live rent free, many of them will wind up in default on their rental properties which could then be easily snapped up.
Agreed.
I find it fascinating that people have been brainwashed so much that they allow their owners to control private property. Americans have been slaves for a long time (same is true of the rest of the world). No chains of iron ever held a man as much as his own beliefs. Larkin Rose was correct, authority is the most dangerous superstition.
