Marcy Venture Partners, a VC firm founded by popular musicians Shawn Carter (aka Jay-Z) and Jay Brown, along with Larry Marcus of Walden Venture Capital, are investing in a plant-based protein startup called Simulate, reports Bloomberg.
The New York-based company has just completed another round of funding, netting an additional $50 million from Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, venture capital firm Seven Seven Six, and the frozen foods company McCain; along with others, such as AgFunder.
According to a spokesperson from Stimulate, Marcy Venture Partners values the company at roughly $250 million, but did not disclose the amount that was invested.
This is not the first plant-based alternative company Jay-Z has invested in, as he has put forth his own money for some investments, or through Marcy Venture Partners and Arrive – the VC arm of his Roc Nation label, says AgFunder News.
Jay-Z and some of his partnered investors have put funding towards Impossible Foods, one of the more mainstream plant-based alternative companies, that also includes celebrity endorsements and funding from popstar Katy Perry, comedian and talk show host Trevor Noah, tennis champion Serena Williams, and others.

Jay-Z, along with Oprah Winfrey and award-winning actress Natalie Portman, are also invested in an alternative milk company Oatley. Oatley is currently suing another alternative-dairy company for what they claim was infringement on their trademarks.
‘Marcy Venture Partners’ other food-related portfolio companies include vegan cookie brand Partake Foods. Arrive has invested in US grab-and-go salad chain Sweetgreen and Indonesian ‘new retail’ coffee concept Kopi Kenangan, among others,’ reports AgFunder News.

[1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; [3] Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. [4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: [5] For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.1 Timothy 4:1-5
$45 bucks plus shipping for a barf patty? Count me out. But, once again, we see Bible prophecy being fulfilled as more of these vile celebrities are investing in what they realize (and have been instructed with from their satanic higher-ups) as the future.
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

$45 bucks for a fake meat disc or pseudo-chicken frisbee? I’ll pass. I’d rather eat grass!
I get takeout mostly from a Chinese buffet or gas station eatery and I know that’s all real chicken real beef or pork and real fish no nonsense meats! I understand gas stations are not typically ideal for lunch but they have a fully stocked kitchen at that Conoco Pump-N-Shop where I go for chow and it has a lot of Mexican influence and Mexicans love meat, REAL meat. Most Mexicans if they took a bite out of one of those impossible meat imposters they’d spit it out in an instant!
I don’t know what are your thoughts, Jacob?
Personally, I eat only real food, nothing processed. I buy local when I can form local farmers. Cook from scratch, etc…
Anything processed is most likely poison. Remember: They want you sick, stupid, and scared. Cook, eat, and live like your grandparents did.
Mitch – [Matthew 6:33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Very good points, Mitchell! You nailed it!
The other side of that is the fact that gluttony is a sin, that leads to poverty and loss.
We don’t need to eat the flesh of animals every day. There is an abundance of whole plant foods available in nature that provide healthy amounts of protein, and are better for health and the environment.
1 Corinthians
8:8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
Eating lots of meat makes a person drowsy, and slow, similar to alcohol. The Bible says that will lead to poverty (for instance, through loss of property, due to not being diligent and aware to properly take care of it, but becoming careless and drowsy, etc.):
Proverbs
23:20 Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:
23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe [a man] with rags.
