The following report is from Hydrocarbons Technology:
The US Interior Department is reportedly cancelling oil and gas lease sales from public lands from June this year due to an ongoing review of how the programme contributes to climate change.
The Associated Press reported that the move will not impact the leases that are currently in place.
Interior Bureau of Land Management deputy director Nada Culver explained that the agency has also issued new drilling permits during the open-ended review ordered by the White House.
An end date for the review has not been established, but an interim report expected to release this summer could reveal information about the long-term plans for lease sales.
The petroleum industry and its Republican allies in Congress revealed that the oil and gas suspension could harm the economies of Western states without putting a significant dent in climate change.
Oil and gas lease sales from public lands were earlier postponed or suspended in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
It is said that 24% of the nation’s greenhouse gases (GHG) come from the burning of oil, gas, and coal from government-owned land and water.
The majority of the GHG emissions were reported from oil and gas located on the federal lands after a drilling surge under President Trump.
In January, Biden directed officials to review if the leasing programme unfairly benefits companies at the expense of taxpayers, as well as the impact on climate change.
The nation’s federal courts also blocked prior leases in several western states following lawsuits from conservation groups.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
Technocracy News and Trends also reported on this, and here is what their editor Patrick Wood commented:
As the war against carbon accelerates under Biden, energy independence is again in jeopardy as public lands are placed off-limits to new drilling. The Federal government owns 640 million acres, or 28% of the total land mass in the United States, supposedly held in trust for the benefit of the nation.
Notice on the map below that the vast majority of government land is in the western states where it was easier to acquire land due to sparse population and weak state legislation. To say that this is a war against private property is an understatement
Green is exactly correct. And the number of preoccupied land grows much further when you take into account how much private and farm lands the mega million and billionaires own. This move to get away from dirty energy has jack-diddly-squat to do with the “climate emergency” Biden, AOC, and the other “useless idiots” that parrot the climate propaganda talk about. All of these actions are a part of the global Agenda Absolute Zero, which we have covered in detail, and urge you to read if you have not done so already. This is not a “Biden” initiative whatsoever: it is a plan for total population control that has been in place long before Trump was in office – which nothing on Trump’s part did anything to slow these plans down.
The rich elites that hold the oil and gas monopolies will not be giving up their wealth whatsoever. These “eco-warriors” for Biden, ACO, and all the rest, never tell you HOW these grand “green” technologies will be built. It is going to take a substantial amount of DIRTY ENERGY to build these systems. So when emissions subsequently RISE, the media and politicians will be right there to put a spin on it by saying, “New data shows that carbon emissions are going up. This means we need to ramp up production and restrict more dirty energy.”
Translation: You lose more of your freedoms and the bigs make their money. See the game at play?
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6:10
[12] Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon: [13] Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant. [14] And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.Isaiah 30:12-14
