Several days ago United States President Joe Biden announced new plans to slash greenhouse and carbon emissions by 2030 at the virtual global climate summit, with other nations such as Russia, China, and 38 other world leaders.
According to a Daily Mail report, Biden vowed that the US is set on course to a zero emissions economy no later than 2050. However, he has yet to layout a clear plan as to how this plan would be accomplished and how it would particularly affect the American way of life.
Republicans and experts in the industries did not like the sound of this plan and argued this is not sustainable, will put jobs at risk of termination, and force tax hikes.
‘Holy Cow!’
There’s nothing holy about a cow, but it may become a prized commodity with Biden’s initiatives.
The Biden Administration wants to have meat consumption cut down to a substantial amount by 90%, and another 50% in other meat consumption.
According to a study by Michigan University’s Center for Sustainable Systems, the dietary changes could see greenhouse gas emissions cutdown by almost half by 2030.
According to the Daily Mail report, this would equate to 4 pounds of red meat a year, or .18 ounces a day. This would equal the size of a single ordinary American burger a month.

It’s not just red meat: Biden and other nations are pushing for more electric and cleaner energy use.
Citing evidence from The University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy, adjusting transportation habits would count towards about 25% of Biden’s goals.
‘It would mean more than 65% of new cars and SUV sales and 10 percent of new truck sales would need to be electric,’ according to the Daily Mail Report.
The average cost of an electric vehicle is currently $55,000 dollars.
Heat’n Up
To reach Biden’s goal by 2030, 25% of homes will need to be heated solely with electricity, sparking the end of oil or natural gas, coal, etc.
Figures provided by HomeAdvisor says that the average cost to install a new electric heat pump – an all-in-one heating and cooling unit, would cost over $5,600.
