Greetings everyone, just a short update post I needed to make.

Well, once again I have had issues with delivering emails for those subscribed to the daily newsletter. This morning I was finally able to get them working. After having a go-around with escalated tech support with my hosting platform, we have determined the issue.

To make a long story short, I have been using my hosting platform’s free email delivery system, and one of the “Executive Response Specialists” there told me that their free system is not good and was never really meant to send the number of emails that I have been.

On top of that, The WinePress gets a LOT of haters and spammers. A lot of people signing up for emails are putting in emails that simply do not exist or the newsletters immediately go to the spam folder. This triggers the company’s internal system to then flag the email sender and put it in perpetual limbo.

I have attempted to clean out the mailing list a few times already, but it is difficult to get accurate stats because many readers are now using VPNs, browsers and email providers that block pop-ups. It is hard to tell who is reading what; and there have been times when I have mistakenly deleted subscribers who are active readers, and yet my internal stats say the reader opens 0% of the emails.

In the meantime, as of right now, if you do not want to be on the mailing list, then please either message me and say that you’d like to be removed, or please manually unsubscribe from the newsletter by hitting the unsubscribe message at the bottom of the letter. This will help me determine who I need to remove. All that to say, I have to convert to a new third-party emailing system, which means this costs more money.

As I said, The WP is getting a lot of attacks and negative attention. Roughly a month ago I had a conversation with a higher-up in the IT department at the company, and he basically told and showed me that The WP is under heavy bot attacks regularly, the most he has ever seen, and has indicated that it’s probably because of the subject matter I report on. Needless to say, there are a lot of people who don’t like what I have to report. He respectfully advised me to purchase more website security, for which I did.

With all that being said, as much as I hate to have to even bring this up, but I do encourage those who like The WinePress and read it regularly to please prayerfully consider making a small contribution.

The WP is not corporate and is not registered with the government so as to maintain our integrity, neither is The WP monetized and has remained ad-free. This publication relies on the generous support of readers. The money received goes to paying for all the fees that go into operating and maintaining the website, and to help pay for other general cost of living.

The WP is not some major money-making operation by any stretch of the imagination. In almost all years The WP has been in existence, it has received roughly less than or right around the federal poverty line for a single earner. Unlike *some* “ministries” that demand and pinch their audiences for gadzooks of money, for, quite frankly, subpar content and preaching at best; most of which is just purloined from others anyways.

Philippians 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. [16] For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. [17] Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. [18] But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. [19] But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Believe me when I say I absolutely hate having to bring this up, but I felt it necessary this time. Thousands of unique individuals visit the site daily on a regular basis, and yet only a very small few support. I do not spend the money earned frivolously, I do not go out and waste it, and everything is fairly budgeted, and by God’s graces I have been able to keep the costs low.

So, I want to once again thank every single one of you from the bottom of my heart that does choose to support my work. Your help has been greatly appreciated and will not go unnoticed. I am asking those who have not yet supported my work but who do enjoy The WP to please consider making a small monetary donation to keep operations going. Any little bit helps.

On to other quick updates –

As I indicated in my last update in July, my book “The Lord of Glory” is, Lord willing, set for re-release later this year. A number of updates and editions are being made to it – some things are being removed that are not needed, to make the book more palatable and that detract from the main purpose of the book, while adding some new information and better clarifying other parts. I believe many of you will greatly enjoy it once it comes out. I do not have an official release date, but I am hoping to have it published and ready for purchase by no later than Thanksgiving week at the latest, hopefully.

Let me know if you are interested in a hardback edition. It will cost a little more, but if there is interest then I will make one as well.

Also, I mentioned at the beginning of the year that I have intentions to start a new podcast. It would be secular in nature, but an extension of everything I am already doing but more; essentially material I do not have time to get to now. This will open the opportunity for me to do more scriptural studies and sermons here. I also hope to get that going later this year, but we’ll see how it pans out.

Lastly, without getting into details, I have some personal and private requests intended for others. God knoweth what they are, so I would ask that if you could remember please say some prayers for me.

As always, thanks to everyone that shares and supports my work. I have a number of important pieces I have been working on for some time now and I hope to get them out eventually.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: [2] And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. [3] But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. [4] And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. [5] And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

The WinePress needs your support! If God has laid it on your heart to want to contribute, please prayerfully consider donating to this ministry. If you cannot gift a monetary donation, then please donate your fervent prayers to keep this ministry going! Thank you and may God bless you.

  • I pray for ya and the WP every night, and will continue to support ya, Jacob. I don’t think I have ever got any e-mail from ya, please put me on your list.
If ya offer a hard copy, I’d be interested.

I would say; Thank You Jacob for all your work; I pray God allows you and the WP to flourish till the catching up.

  • The requirement of the Lord is that we are faithful. Which is more than evidenced in the ministry the Lord has given you.
1Co 4:2  Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
You have my continued support and prayers.
Act 20:35  I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive
    – hard back edition would be great.
    Thank you Jacob

  • Keep up the great work Jacob. Admittedly I didn’t even know of your site until a friend sent me a few links only a few months ago. I know all too well what you’re talking about when you plow the field and only a handful of support comes in.

    To those folks who come here to read, if you don’t understand; The Word is clear when it says (in addition to scripture Jacob posted above);

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward. -1 Timothy 5:17-18

This includes the watchmen and those who are reporting what is really going on to look out for you so that you can make informed decisions and gain discernment. It is not an easy task to get on and tell people, not what they WANT to hear, but what they need to hear. You would want to be honored for your time and work (and the time it takes to research) so the right thing to do is to regard and esteem highly, those who do. And tithing is Biblical -we are supposed to tithe where we are fed. Remember to do unto others as you would have done unto you.

At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.
    -Deuteronomy 24:15

Remember too that James 4:17 says, Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.’

And I realize many are unable but this is why those who are able to, should. It should never be left up to only a handful because every little bit counts and there are those of you that have more than enough to help out.

  • Thank you, for the explanation, Jacob! I will support you as the Lord provides. Presently, I’m barely getting by. Maranatha!

  • The Lord is a lamp to your feet. Do as the Lord instructs you and he will supply all your needs through the church and his Holy Spirit.

  • I appreciate work you do. I also appreciate you letting me know what is happening globally & the UK’S role in alot of it!
Yes they are very dark days, but it causes action for the gospel, & hope that the end is now in sight.
I’m hoping your book will be on Amazon. As ordering direct from the USA has become a problem in recent years.
Thank you too for being an example in how to be steadfast in hope & righteousness. Every blessing in Jesus.

    • Thank you, Lynda. Unfortunately, I do not plan to sell on Amazon. I have before and their take of the cut is a lot and leaves me with pennies. The added distribution is not worth it. However, the seller I am using ships internationally, so you can still get one it just might take a little extra time to get there. I might offer an ebook version, too.
