By and large, Americans are disappointed with the choices they have for President and are loathing the election in November, and recent events at the Republican National Convention further drove that point home.
Closing out this year’s RNC yesterday, a number of celebrities gave their endorsements of former President Donald Trump. Among those was professional wrestler icon Hulk Hogan, who ripped off his shirt and shouted “enough was enough” and said “let Trumpomania run wild, brother!” to a cheering audience.
A number of commentors jeered and expressed their embarrassment at this stint. One comment, which received over 800 likes, said, “Our country is doomed it has turned into a reality show. No wonder the world laughs at us.” Another highly liked comment read, “What a freaking joke this nation has become.” And another said: “Idiocracy was truly a documentary.”
That same night featured a song performed by music artist Kid Rock, who tried to ignite the crowd to jam with him and shout “fight!” with him.
Before this week’s RNC and attempted assassination of Donald Trump last week, Americans were already feeling glum about the choices they were left with.
Just prior to the first Presidential Debate in June, The WinePress reported that Americans expressed their discontent with both options; which, according to the Pew Research Center, ‘it has been almost 40 years since it saw such a high number of so-called “double hater” votes for the candidates in a presidential election. The number almost doubled since 2020—when the two first squared off—when 13 percent of Americans said they disliked both candidates.’
Furthermore, The WP also reported in May that this displeasure with both candidates is expressly being felt amongst the Gen-Z and young Millennial population. That poll found a strong number of participants felt that the United States is “a dying empire led by bad people.”
The WP noted: ‘49% agreed to some extent that elections in the country don’t represent people like them; 51% agreed to some extent that the political system in the US “doesn’t work for people like me;” and 64% backed the statement that “America is in decline.” A whopping 65% agreed either strongly or somewhat that “nearly all politicians are corrupt, and make money from their political power” — only 7% disagreed.’
Prior to the debate, some Americans in this age bracket took to social media to poke fun at and lament the current state of U.S. politics, such as this YouTube Short that has received over 3.8 million views:
The viral video received a ton of comments which all took turns laughing at and scorning the current affairs.
This sentiment was only heightened after the debate and others took to social media to make fun of the predicament, such as this video that has gotten over 1.8 million views so far on YouTube alone, and many commentors expressing their woes in the comment section.
America’s displeasure was further validated yet again in another poll from the Pew Research Center, which found that 63 percent of Americans consider U.S. President Joe Biden and Donald Trump “embarrassing.”
It should be noted, however, that these poll findings were released a few days before the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, so it is likely they may have changed slightly, though probably not too significantly.
Nevertheless, Pew reported that ‘following President Joe Biden’s poor performance in the June 27 debate, former President Donald Trump holds a 4 percentage point lead over Biden among registered voters: 44% say that if the election were held today, they would vote for Trump; 40% would vote for Biden, while 15% support third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’
The report, which was conducted from July 1st to 7th, and involved 9,424 adults, including 7,729 registered voters, found ‘only about a quarter of voters (24%) say the phrase “mentally sharp” describes Biden very or fairly well; more than twice as many (58%) describe Trump as mentally sharp.’
Almost 68% say they are unhappy with their choices for president. Roughly 81% of Biden supporters and 90% of RFK Jr. supporters expressed their dissatisfaction with the candidates.
Pew added: ‘Since April, there has been a modest uptick in the share of voters who say that if given the chance, they would replace both Biden and Trump on the ballot. Currently, 53% favor replacing Biden and Trump with different candidates, up from 49% in April.’
The survey also found that ‘87% say that so far, the campaign does not make them feel proud of the country; 76% say it is not focused on important policy debates; and 68% describe the campaign as too negative.’
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
In March of this year I wrote an article titled, “We Have Selections, Not Elections. It’s All Just Theater, Dividing Us Over Premade Decisions” – and in that post I quoted Jesse Ventura, former Governor of Minnesota, retired Navy SEAL, professional wrestler, and movie star, who summed up political gaggles in America as such:
Politics in America is identical to pro wrestling.
In front of the crowd, in front of TV, they pretend they hate each other. They pretend like they are big adversaries and that’s the sell job they do to us, the citizens. Just like pro wrestling, my job was to go out and piss everybody off so bad they would pay their hard earned money to go out and see me get my butt kicked.
Well, the point is, we are all friends in the locker room. We all work together. It’s entertainment. We put on a show and this is no different. They are putting on a show, because behind the scenes, they are all friends. They go out to dinner together and cut their deals together. It’s a show. That’s what I believe.
I taught at Harvard in 2004. Do you know what one of my classes was? How Pro Wrestling Prepares You For Politics.
Ventura explained in an interview with Chuck Palahnuik
So what did they do at this year’s RNC? They had a professional wrestler rip his shirt off. Need I say anymore? 🫳🎤
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

This is absolutely pathetic.
Hulk Hogan ripping his shirt.
Kid Rock rock rapping to the tune of Sad but True by Metallica.
Neither SELECTION candidate is favored.
What a way to top off the fall of the U.S. empire, talk about the cherry on top!
I have to say that when I read comments on YouTube they are ALL sounding as if Trump could walk on water. They actually worship him, which is of course disgusting, but I was not aware that so many people were actually against him and think he’s mean spirited or embarrassing
I really do hope we are not here for this insane soap opera election. Let us be in Heaven, dear Lord, and let the world go about their business and the Antichrist will soon step into the mess and smooth it all out in his deceitful way and the world will love him So sad for them.
If you look closely and try to scrap past all the paid and promoted content, shills and bots, a lot of people are so fed up with the nonsense. Most of these people don’t understand the intricate complexities as to just how badly they are getting screwed, but they recognize at face value that it’s just a clown show. After 2020, a lot of people became privy to the reality that things are not as black and white as the media wants people to think that it is.
