“Up is down, down is up. We’re going to save the climate by serving people lab-grown meat, which may actually have a 25 times worse emission output.”

The United States Department of Defense (DoD) has revealed proposals to feed American soldiers cell-cultured, lab-grown meat in a bid to “reduce the CO2 footprint” at military bases.

The Pentagon has funded a private-public biotech company called BioMADE to the tune of over $500 million, and in a recent May press release the company unveiled proposed plans submitted to the DoD in 2022 to create faux meats to reduce carbon emissions.

Innovations in food production that reduce the CO2 footprint of food production at and/or transport to DoD operational environments are solicited. These could include, but are not limited to, production of nutrient-dense military rations via fermentation processes, utilizing one carbon molecule (C1) feedstocks for food production, and novel cell culture methods suitable for the production of cultivated meat/protein.

The document says

The group went on to suggest ideas such as “converting waste to bioproducts” and use “them as feedstocks for bioindustrial manufacturing;” and “carbon capture technologies” that convert greenhouse gases and CO2 into ‘sustainable’ products, which could “include but are not limited to biocement, biochar, and bioplastics.”

It would appear the Pentagon is perhaps on board with this idea as the DoD doled out $450 million in taxpayer’s funds to the company in March.

Matt Spence, a former Defense Department official, wrote in a piece for Slate in 2021 that “One of the most immediate, politically feasible, and high-impact ways to do this [address climate change] is for the U.S. government to invest in and accelerate alternative ways to produce meat.”

However, there is a lot of controversy surrounding the process of making lab-grown meats. In late-2022, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ruled that consuming cell-cultured meat is “safe for human consumption,” and gave their stamp of approval to the first company to sell their faux meats. The FDA approved a second fake meat company in 2023.

But there are reports of notable health issues these cell-cultured meats can create. Some scientists say people should not eat these products.

Last year, the University of California Davis published a study titled, “Lab-Grown Meat’s Carbon Footprint Potentially Worse Than Retail Beef.”

If companies are having to purify growth media to pharmaceutical levels, it uses more resources, which then increases global warming potential. If this product continues to be produced using the ‘pharma’ approach, it’s going to be worse for the environment and more expensive than conventional beef production.

According to the report’s lead author, Derrick Risner, a member of UC Davis’s Department of Food Science and Technology.

Florida and Alabama have already banned the sale and production of lab-grown meats in their states, and Iowa has introduced legislation to prohibit calling protein substitutes on packing ‘meat,’ and bans schools from buying it and feeding it to students.

Center for the Environment and Welfare Executive Director Jack Hubbard said in an interview with The Daily Signal that cell cultures were “developed for medical research, not for human consumption—they put them in a stainless steel bioreactor. They then need to feed it a whole bunch of hormones and chemicals in order to get that replication over and over and over again,” he said. “And then once that’s, you know, replicated and created, they then mold it into something that looks like a meatball or a piece of meat. And they serve it and they call it lab-grown meat.”

Up is down, down is up. We’re going to save the climate by serving people lab-grown meat, which may actually have a 25 times worse emission output. It’s absolutely insane. It’s almost Orwellian, the way that these groups are pushing this stuff and the science and the facts aren’t on their side.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

We all know this has nothing to do with reducing carbon emissions, especially when the toxic slop the government wants to supplement real meat with actually creates more emissions, and the quality and nutritional markers are horrific.

I am simply left to assume this is purposefully designed to sicken and weaken our already dilapidating armed forces even further.

Jeremiah 48:14 How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

    • That is correct!
And if the military thinks I’m going to join any branch especially now that I know that they’re evil and working for the Pope and the Jesuits, forget it.
