Microsoft recently unveiled a new AI tool that has a lot of people online concerned about what this means for their privacy and safety. The AI tool called “Recall,” that will become available to some Windows 11 users, records the user’s screen and allows them to go back in time and see what it is they were doing. Microsoft claims that the data is stored locally and therefore protected, but many are not convinced.

According to Windows Latest, ‘With Recall, Microsoft says it can turn your previous actions into “searchable snapshots”, allowing you to search and interact with your past actions. Recall runs in the background and relies on the NPU chip to record your screen.’
Working in tandem with Microsoft’s new AI Copilot feature, Recall can do the following:
- Recall runs in the background all the time.
- It records everything you do with your PC, including your apps, movies, documents, emails, browsing history, browser tabs, and more. However, Microsoft will not record DRM-protected content, passwords, private browsing, or other sensitive information.
- Recall can understand your screen and then offer contextual suggestions.
- Recall is powered by an NPU chip and stores the data in your local storage.
The outlet listed an example as to how it works:
For example, searching for “Find the red barn” brings up results from PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams, showing instances where content about the red barn was displayed. This doesn’t mean the “red barn” must be in the content. For example, if you previously shared a picture of a red barn with your friend on WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, or any app, Recall AI can find it and show it in the search results.
That’s because Recall not only records but also understands your screen.
Microsoft states that this data is encrypted and stored locally on the device and manages all the screenshots taken. Users can delete those screenshots, deactivate Recall entirely, or blacklist certain apps and websites from being recorded.
Recall simply records whatever it sees, except if a certain thing is blacklisted. The publication explains:
This means if an app or browser does not follow industry standards, Recall can capture the screen and create a snapshot of sensitive information.
For example, suppose an app does not cloak password entry or follow standard internet protocols, privacy, or security rules. In that case, Windows 11 Recall can record and save sensitive information in its memory locally on your device.
This includes your pictures, passwords, financial account numbers, credit card, etc. However, this happens only when the app does not follow standard internet protocols like cloaking password entry.

In short, Windows Latest guarantees: “Everything happens locally. If you can trust your computer, you can also trust Windows 11 AI integration.”
But that’s the thing: many online are frightened by this and do not trust Microsoft to keep such critical data secure.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
I can’t wait for Microsoft’s guarantees of encryption and local storage to age like spoiled, curdled milk. Definitely do not trust that at all.
This is just some Orwellian stuff right here; but it’s ironic considering that the government and telecommunications companies have been spying and collecting all of our data for decades now, and sells it regularly with no recourse, and the people have come to tolerate and accept it as the new way of life. I do not doubt for a moment this too will only be a valuable asset for the NSA and CISA.
Use older computers that do not come with this feature. Perhaps consider a Linux, if you can afford to convert. Only the latest tech can support Recall because the AI requires new fancy up-to-date drivers and hardware to work sufficiently.
Micah 7:1 Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit. [2] The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net. [3] That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

This goes on and on. i would love to be in the room when the psychos dream up this SH*T.. All the power drunk beta males, females and “its” gathered together at the highest levels to dream up crap like this and the usual strategy to sell it being “convenience”. Sheeple will run to this stuff ASAP. Count on it
Oracle please no cussing this is a Chrisian sight.
Oracle, you’re so right! “This goes on and on.” It will continue to do so, and get much worse, as long as people do nothing but complain online about it. Writing letters and to various politicians and holding useless protests won’t help either. People need to get together and really do something, rather than to complain. Complaining and “murmuring” prevented the Israelis from entering the Promised Land…
Basically . . . ‘they’ are allowing / showing you what the NSA has been doing with your computer all along.
Pretty much.
“Use older computers that do not come with this feature. Perhaps consider a Linux, if you can afford to convert. Only the latest tech can support Recall because the AI requires new fancy up-to-date drivers and hardware to work sufficiently.”
Why bother to “convert” to another OS? They’ve caught us in the “Net” (Internet) many years ago! Every time we visit or comment on forums like this, we dig our own graves that much deeper…
I don’t disagree but at least with a Linux it’s a little less overhead control. I don’t own a Linux, but if I ever converted to a new computer I would probably look into a Linux and build it up from scratch.
Hi Jacob (my capital J doesn’t work because I have an OLD computer). ha Not all of us know how to build a computer. Me for one has no clue what goes on on the inside of my laptop, only on the screen do I know.
It will be so nice to get out of this hell hole SOON. It’s one corrupt thing after another with them. They are going to get their “come uppance” one of these days soon.
God is a just God and will apply His wrath correctly on them and they will deserve every bit of it.
See you all soon, bro’s and sis’s.
Thank you bringing this to attention brother Jacob.
Funny that the hardware requirements are so large, that if your computer is at least 4-5 years old you’re probably fine. In the secular sphere, a lot of people are having second thoughts about using Windows, and considering Linux.
To the brethren who don’t tinker with their computers, setting up a user-friendly OS (Linux Mint for example, looks and feels like Windows 7/XP) is not hard, and articles are available online. However if not, you could always ask a friend or family member to assist you.
Most importantly, praise the Lord that we still have some resemblance of open communication! How long will this persist before the Catching Away, only God knows.
