After a long week of anticipation, Iran finally launched a long-range missile and drone attack against Israel in retaliation for Israel’s killing an Iranian consulate in Syria, which killed one of their top commanders.

The news continues to rapidly update by the minute.

Before the missile barrage began it was reported that Iranian forces were able to shutdown parts of Israel’s electrical grid, causing widespread blackouts in cities such as Tel Aviv, Netanya, and more. It’s believed the attack was carried out by Iranian-backed “Cyber Avengers.” The group has warned of more potential cyberattacks to come.

According to Iranian publication Press TV, the missile and drone barrage is being called “Operation True Promise.” Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said in a statement:

In response to the Zionist regime’s numerous crimes, including the attack on the consular section of Iran’s Embassy in Damascus and the martyrdom of a number of our country’s commanders and military advisors in Syria, the IRGC’s Aerospace Division launched tens of missiles and drones against certain targets inside the occupied territories.

Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani also warned: “Whatever country that could open its soil or airspace to Israel for a [potential] attack on Iran, will receive our decisive response.”

Separately, days before the attack, Iranian officials said that the failure of international law to condemn Israel’s attack, and intervene against them, has led to their decision. Furthermore, it singled out the United States and said, “any support or participation in harming Iran’s interests will result in a decisive and regrettable response by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic. Furthermore, America is held responsible for the evil actions of the Zionist regime, and if this child-killing regime is not restrained in the region, it will bear the consequences.”

It has been reported that over 300 projectiles were fired at Israel, after initially reporting 200 – 185 drones, 110 surface-to-surface missiles, and 36 cruise missiles.

The Times of Israel reported:

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel, causing slight damage to a military base.

He says most of the missiles were intercepted by the long-range Arrow air defense system. The missiles were mostly downed outside of Israeli airspace, he says.

One strike led to the injury of a young girl in the Negev, and additional impacts caused “slight damage to infrastructure” at a military base in southern Israel, Hagari says. The girl, according to medics, was hurt by shrapnel following an interception.

He says fighter jets also downed dozens of cruise missiles and dozens of drones.

‘A “senior Israeli official” was later quoted by Channel 12 news pledging an ‘unprecedented response’ to Iran’s attack and urging Israelis not to go to bed due to what was coming Tehran’s way,’ The TOI also reported.

Israel will of course be working to respond with their own retaliatory strikes.

Before the attack was announced, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III told Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant that “Israel could count on full U.S. support to defend Israel against any attacks by Iran and its regional proxies.”

President Joe Biden said in a statement on X: “I just met with my national security team for an update on Iran’s attacks against Israel. Our commitment to Israel’s security against threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad.”

Mark 13:7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. [8] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

So far it appears this latest escalation will be more tit-for-tat strikes for the time being, but we’ll see how long that lasts for now… One thing we do know for sure: this war will expand even more than it has, while at the same time the U.S. and NATO are busy saber-rattling with Russia, an ally of Iran, in a war that cannot be won nor was ever meant to be won. Get ready for more bipartisan spending packages.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
