Journalist and researcher Eli Cahan released a report, provided by Kaiser Health News, hospitals are reporting an uptick in the number of admissions for alcohol-related liver disease across 2020.
Keck Hospital of the University of Southern California reports admissions for alcoholic liver disease were up 30% in 2020 compared with 2019. The University of Michigan, Northwestern University, Harvard University, Mount Sinai Health System in New York City; all report a 50% increase of admissions.
Dr. Raymond Chung, a hepatologist at Harvard University and president of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, told Cahan, that, he was already seeing a growing trend of liver disease under the age of 40. “But what we’re seeing now is truly dramatic.”
We’re seeing a lot more liver disease and a lot more liver disease from alcohol.
Dr. Brian Lee. Keck Medicine transplant hepatologist, told KABC
All of this coincides with the reports of rises in relation to stress, job loss, isolation, anxiety, and depression. Research showed that more people were drinking during the beginning of the lockdowns. Another report shows that drinkers increased consumption by 30% compared to pre-pandemic months.
In March 2020, Nielson reported a 54% increase in national alcohol sales. Online sales skyrocketed by 262%. In September online sales continued to rise, with orders of beer, wine, and spirits were up 256% from 2019.
Abuse specialists have noted that those who were improving from abuse have had their progress grind to a halt.
According to the report, Relapse could be driving some of the incidents of serious liver disease. A liver specialist at Northwestern Medicine told Cahan that many of her patients had been in recovery for years but when the pandemic hit, they were “all of a sudden” back in the hospital.
Alcohol abuse is not limited to liver damage, but also heart disease, various cancers, and weakened immune systems.
This spike alcohol abuse seems to be targeting women more. One study noted that women who had at least one COVID-related financial stressor were found to be 18% more likely to report an increase in alcohol consumption. Other reports noted that alcohol-related deaths were twice as fast among women compared to years previously.
You’re seeing people with health issues, relationship issues from being on top of each other during COVID, employment issues, financial problems. These are all huge triggers.
For most people, it’s a stress release and it doesn’t cause problems. But for other people, it works until it doesn’t and then it works against them
Dr. Sean Esteban McCabe. Director of the Center for the Study of Drugs, Alcohol, Smoking and Health at the University of Michigan.
There are some really big challenges. I’ve cried with quite a few people. We’ve lost some really important people. I have also seen quite a few people do things that would blow your mind in terms of getting help for the first time. They got sober during COVID. That’s a story that also should be told.
Dr. Sean McCabe
AUHTOR COMMENTARY
[4] It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: [5] Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. [6] Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. [7] Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. [8] Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. [9] Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.Proverbs 31:4-9
[29] Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? [30] They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. [31] Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. [32] At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. [33] Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. [34] Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. [35] They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.Proverbs 23:29-35
The report, like all mainstream and local news propaganda, constantly blames it on the “pandemic.” NO, not the pandemic: it’s the draconian lockdowns and hysteria from the media that has caused the panic! Pandemics don’t make you drink, depression and stress make people get plastered and destroy their health.
These lockdowns are just unfathomable in all aspects; but WinePress readers already know it is all by design. Drinking goes up, suicide goes up, people gain weight, smoking goes up, massive anxiety and uncertainty, job loss, no money, debt grows, and on and on.
The WinePress needs your support! If God has laid it on your heart to want to contribute, please prayerfully consider donating to this ministry. If you cannot gift a monetary donation, then please donate your fervent prayers to keep this ministry going! Thank you and may God bless you.
“For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
And like Belshazzar. He was busy having a party with a lot of drinking just before his doom.
Some of this is alcohol, no doubt, but there is a LOT of purposeful misinformation in the mainstream on covid symptoms & I suspect this information release is part of that cloaking ‘management’ & keeping people dependent & thus unnecessarily helpless & in danger. Will share a couple links at the end of this with pertinent information. Glyphosate occupying glycine receptors is a big issue, and vitamins A,C and D3 and fat metabolism with liver: first link. The glyphosate issue causes a cascade of issues affecting cell metabolism: mitochondria and ATP, and interfering with b vitamin synthesis. The second link is a great overview on prevention & preparation, lessening severity of bout with covid, and treatment short of hospital, that I can personally vouch for & anecdotally for other family members & friends who used the same strategy successfully.

Low level infection std’s and drug toxicity, pesticide residue, and systemic inflammation, bad nutrition etc all affect the liver. It filters everything. One of the issues with covid is the over-reactive inflammatory immune response it causes, which contributes to the blood issues it causes, with clotting that affect organs first due to the fine blood vessels involved. Kidneys, too, and brain. It’s why you hear of ‘organ failure’.

It is key to address any underlying conditions like cardio-vascular, high blood pressure, diabetes, fatty liver & other liver issues ….and to make sure you are not vitamin deficient. D3 is crucial, and fat soluble vitamin A, and C. It’s astonishing what being deficient in D3 sets you up for. Quercetin & zinc, selenium help protect from & address viruses directly.

I can’t recommend Mercola.com enough for the latest nutrition, supplement and covid science for folks to be aware & apply to their circumstances. He source cites everything, so you can use it as a springboard. And he’s not vegetarian or so ‘out there’ that the science is useless or just-so stories. Not Christian. But those folks were shut down and scattered during the second Obama term, leaving Catholic guys like Dr. Axe & Ty Bollinger for the token ‘Christians.’ Some useful material at both of those places, but a lot of corrupt spirituality. Mercola is most useful, and you know where you stand with him. Cosmic humanist.

This third link addresses the drinking issue, and how it depletes key nutrients necessary to liver function, and all muscle. Heart, blood vessels, and organs again. https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2021/02/15/nicotinamide-adenine-dinucleotide-benefits.aspx
Thanks for the info.
