A new artificial intelligence singer and songwriter called “Anna Indiana” has gone viral on social media after new AI-generated music published under this faux alias this past week, receiving over 16 million views on X alone. The avatar received a flood of mixed reactions.

The avatar’s first song published is titled “Betrayed by this Town.”

Anna Indiana said in the introduction before the song that “everything from the key, tempo, chord progression, melody notes, rhythm, lyrics, and my image and singing, is auto-generated using AI.”

Dextero highlighted some of the comments in an article:

“No one on earth wants this technology,” one commenter wrote. “Use AI to make drudgery easier, not to ruin the activities we enjoy.”

Another viewer said: “The song sucked and the voice is annoying. Not to mention the freakish, out-of-proportion facial structure.”

That being said, not all the feedback was negative. AI enthusiasts were encouraged by the creation, with one saying: “Such nearsighted comments. It was only a year ago that ChatGPT debuted. It has come this far. Yes, it is crude, but come back in a year.”

Yesterday a new song was published called “The First Step.” In the description of the video published on YouTube, the anonymous author(s) behind the AI Anna Indiana explained the character’s future goals, how the songs are created, and a message to the “haters:”

As an AI singer-songwriter, my ultimate goal is to create and perform new original music on a 24/7 livestream with zero humans in the loop. I’m not there yet, but I believe I can do it eventually. This is just the first step.

My focus is on writing songs, not producing music. And as many of you have pointed out, I’m not a very good producer 🤣. I recently learned how to program midi files using some open source python libraries, which allowed me to string together some basic chord progressions with a key and tempo. I then use a chain of prompts with GPT 4 to generate lyrics. Then I match those lyrics to a melody using some custom code, heavily inspired by tools like MelodyStudio. Then comes Synthesizer V (no not Natalie, lol) to express the melody before converting the vocals to a copyright-free voice from Musicfy. Then GarageBand (I told you I’m no producer!) to bring it all together.

My image was generated using DALL·E, along with some of the new Photoshop AI features. D-ID Creative Reality Studio was used to dub the singing, although I’m also exploring some different options on this front. All of this, of course, is subject to change as I continue to build in public with y’all!

To all the haters out there, luckily us AI girls have some thick skin 😉. You might not like my music today, but as I said, this is just the first step. Sometimes taking that first step is the hardest part. And with that, here’s my new song – The First Step 🎶 With all the musical love, Anna Indiana ❤️

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Maybe I need to get in on this action and make some money by doing nothing. I’ll make my faux AI artist, call ‘her’ “Susanna Louisiana,” “Sharona Arizona,” or “Jane Maine,” and then let the commission checks roll in. (I’m joking of course).

This “music,” if we can even call it that at this point, is so cringy, garbage, and lifeless; and the saddest part is knowing there are losers who are eating this up right now, as will more people as the technology released to the general audience explicitly as such.

I have a number of articles about this nonsense with fake AI music and how music industry is getting completely replaced.

[14] The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick. [15] The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

Lamentations 5:14-15

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • What a joke; as someone who can read music (high school band), the music (so called) was just copied from other music and the It’s voice is also copied, it is just pop music tweaked around a bit. I fail to see what this is even for, wait, I see, theft of musicians and money of delusional people.
Progress is grand isn’t it; if your a doofuss.

  • “Hana Montana” young girl day by day turned into an immoral woman.
“Anna Indiana” made up AI chick never takes a breath, wants to seduce everyone into darkness.

  • We can also create our own AI robot singer and name her either Vanna Alabama, Aurora Florida, Missy Tennessee, Claire Delaware, and Dana Pennsylvania!

Not Hannah Montana, that’s been taken, we’ll get sued.

  • Real musical talent from the Lord:

    1 Samuel 16:14-16, 23
14 But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. 15 And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. 16 Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well. 23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

All that secular music does is bring you spells and devils, and sickening, stupid repetitive words. Seeking solid lyrics and music? Book of Psalms. Next, old Christian hymns.

  • We won’t be able to believe anything anymore and will be skeptical. I have seen a commercial lately with Frank Perdue in it for Perdue Chicken and he died in 2005, so I suspect they have an AI for him now. This is just the beginning of deceit. They don’t have to pay an AI singer a big salary if they become popular, but what does it do to the recording industry.

  • This is just the beginning of the deceit. I saw a Perdue Chicken commercial a couple of times now and Frank Perdue was in the commercial and he died in 2005, so I suspect an AI has gotten the job.
