A TikTok has gone viral this week after an Army soldier named Brock vented his frustrations, and showed a receipt that is charging him a little less than $4,000 worth of military equipment, gear that he was ordered to leave behind during the rapid departure from Afghanistan last year. Now the Army wants him to pay for it, even though his commanding officers ordered him to leave behind the items.
Two years ago, my unit was deployed to Afghanistan for the Afghanistan withdrawal. We spent a few weeks over there. It was hectic, it was chaotic, it was disgusting, and it made me very disappointed in our government. Today, I’m reminded how disappointed I am in our government.
They want to charge me $500 to $1,000 for gear I was ordered to leave in Afghanistan two years ago because as the last two birds were sitting on the tarmac ready to leave, there wasn’t any room for extra gear, extra weight. Therefore, we were told to leave it. Some lower-level dudes, including myself, were like, ‘No, this stuff is expensive. I’m not leaving this. I’m gonna get charged for this when it’s time to leave.’
the soldier stated in the video.
Brock went on to blast the Biden administration for giving millions of dollars to the Taliban, providing billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine, canceling billions of dollars of student debt, and giving “stupid stimulus checks” to U.S. citizens, but will not fork over the bill to pay “$500 to $1,000 for a dude that left gear in Afghanistan.”
The government is so stinking backward right now, man. This administration’s last priority is the American people, and inside of the American people, their last priority is their soldiers, their airmen, their Marines, their Navy.
He added
The now-former soldier lamented that while he at first thought his gear turn-in day would be “bittersweet,” the “sad” way the military is handling this resulted in him being “happy to separate” from the military under the Biden administration.
I’m very excited to stop serving my government and just getting started serving my country.
The former soldier asked for financial help to cover these costs.
It is no secret that the U.S. Armed Forces is facing a serious problem in recruiting, none more so than the Army; and issues like this that have reached mainstream news like Newsweek, and have gone viral on social media, only gives more reasons why Gen-Z is refusing to join, as highlighted by a former Marine in a reaction to Brock’s frustration.
But Brock is not the only one forced to payback to the government. Veterans Affairs is now going after a 72-year-old retired Marine veteran, forcing him to repay over $100,000 because the VA claims they were unaware he was also collecting social security at the same time he received military pension, though the veteran says that this is a lie.
American Military News has more on the story:
The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) recently informed a Marine veteran from Sarasota County, Florida, that he would be required to pay back over $100,000 that he received in payments from the department due to the veteran collecting Social Security during the same time period he was receiving pension payments from the VA.
71-year-old Patrick McFeely, a Marine veteran, told 10 Tampa Bay WTSP he recently received a letter from the VA, stating, “Your entitlement to compensation and pension benefits has changed. As a result, you were paid $108,094 more than you’re entitled.”
10 Tampa Bay WTSP reported that the VA will reportedly withhold McFeely’s monthly pension funds in order to recover the $108,094 in overpaid funds.
My partner passed away and so I decided to move down here. And I’ve been loving it down here.
McFeely told the outlet.
The Marine veteran said that between Social Security and VA payments he has been receiving roughly $2,400 a month, which he indicated was just enough to live on.
Reading the letter he received to 10 Tampa Bay WTSP, McFeely said,
Your entitlement to compensation and pension benefits has changed. As a result, you were paid $108,094 more than you’re entitled.
When I called I got the runaround and them saying that it’s because I collect Social Security and they didn’t know it. They said I didn’t report it, but what is documented that they know I was collecting Social Security at the time.
In addition to the documentation, McFeely said the VA did not notify him until almost a decade after he started receiving Social Security payments. As a result, McFeely received approximately $10,000 in overpayments each year, adding up to the current total of well over $100,000.
I’m hand to mouth. I’m going to be 72 in January so it’s a little bit late to try to collect $108,000 from me.
McFeely said.
In a statement, VA Press Secretary Terrence Hayes told 10 Tampa Bay WTSP that the department had an issue for roughly 11 years that caused the department to be unable to verify the income of U.S. veterans.
“Between 2011 and 2022, due to discrepancies in data matching, VA was unable to reliably verify the self-reported federal income of Veterans and survivors receiving pensions,” Hayes stated. “When income verification resumed in July 2022, roughly 9,900 beneficiaries were determined to have higher income levels than self-reported. This resulted in VA pension overpayments which – in some cases – spanned many years.”
McFeely explained that he did not report to the VA when he started collecting Social Security because he was unaware that he had to inform the department and he assumed that the department would notify him of any issues, since all of his income is distributed by federal organizations.
McFeely also expressed his shock that the letter he received from the VA included a warning about managing financial stress.
At the bottom of this letter, it says how to manage financial stress. So now they want me to contact the suicide hotline, which is crazy, they’re the ones that put me in this situation.
He said.
According to 10 Tampa Bay WTSP, the VA has acknowledged the difficulties that might be associated with the unexpected debt of McFeely and other veterans. As a result, the department is pausing the collection of debts until it determines “the path forward.” The department noted that it is “pursuing all available options to provide as much pension debt relief as possible.”
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
This now-former soldier said it best; and it’s absolutely disgusting what this administration and others before Old Joe have done, and treated the troops. And yet Old Joe always loves to end his speeches with that gay little one-liner he’s been using his whole career in politics, “and may God protect our troops.” Oh, gag me.
Under Obama the U.S. dropped a bomb every 20 minutes, and under Trump by 2018 it was 12 minutes: that’s how bloodthirsty the people in charge are, but gets no press coverage at all; while the current creep is working to foment three wars at once around the world.
This just adds to the list of reasons why people such as myself have zero interest in ever joining the military, because it so painfully obvious how we are viewed. We are just are expendable, and they could care less about any one of us, as they send us off to die in useless, made-up wars to fight for an oil company; as the politicians make windfall profits, while the soldiers and civilians die in vain. And then this is reinforced by how the government treats its vets of many years, now wanting to grift a 71-year-old over 100K as he is already living paycheck-to-paycheck; as hundreds of thousands of other veterans are homeless right now.
And yet it’s a ‘mystery’ why Gen-Z has zero interest in enlisting…

How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?
Jeremiah 48:14
[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

That is absolutely evil! Doing that to a veteran. I’m glad the military is falling apart and the recruiting numbers are below the freezing point!
With all the flaws Gen-Z has, they have one thing right: they refuse to enlist in a wicked Godless armed services where they’re lied to saying they’re “fighting for freedom” when in reality, they’re fighting in a make believe war and fighting against a bunch of phantom enemies when in reality, they’re innocent civilians fighting back.
These so-called wars are just to make the big wigs at Exxon or the pharmaceutical industry to steal Iraq’s oil or oil from another nation that poses no threat to America or anyone else whatsoever, or to capture a bunch of land to use for opium farms to make heroin and painkillers like morphine and dilaudid like in Vietnam and Afghanistan. The Vietnam war was a drug war and so was the war in Afghanistan, in fact it was worse in Afghanistan: it was a war for the opium lords to marry young girls no older than 10 (opium brides) and for these pedophile elites as well.
America is finished and so is the military all five branches!
I made a mistake trying out for the army. I was a private E-1, medical soon became honorable discharge due to failure to adapt no suicidal or homicidal tendencies. But if they think I’ll re-enlist, they’re living in fantasy land! I don’t care if it’s under Joe Biden, Donald Trump, or Donald Duck, I am not serving the corporate global elites, pedophiles, or illuminati and their occult rituals!
*they’re make believe wars to make the big wigs at Exxon and the pharmaceutical industry richer…
We now live in a third world country; congrats USA.
