The U.S. federal government faces a government shutdown this Friday, November 17th, at midnight; but that appears to have been averted as the House of Representatives passed a new spending package to refund the government to finish out the year, and lasts only until January and February. However, the package made no spending cuts even though Republicans and the new GOP Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who is touted as a strong MAGA-supporter, had said they would not pass a funding bill unless concessions were made.
The bill passed with a 336-95 vote, with strong bipartisan support, especially from Democrats. The bill now heads to the Senate where it is expected to receive similar bipartisan support, Reuters reports.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said in a statement on Tuesday night after the vote that he was happy the package passed “with a strong bipartisan vote,” adding that he would work with his Senate Republican Mitch McConnell to pass it “as soon as possible.”
Reuters added: ‘The stopgap spending bill would extend government funding at current levels into 2024, giving lawmakers more time to craft the detailed spending bills that cover everything from the military to scientific research.’
In other words, as Brian from ClearValue Tax noted, this is just a continuation of the spending package established by former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Furthermore, Brian notes that Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was ousted because he was not willing to make concessions to the spending package, along with side deals he was apparently trying to establish with Dems to get funding for Ukraine passed. But, Republicans are letting it slide with Johnson.
He also says that this, like always, will be strung out to the last minute and signed in the final hour as some kind of symbolic victory declared. The same drama will continue on January, Brian said.

If you want more background on Johnson you can read my report I did on him two weeks ago. The first thing this guy did was claim how the U.S. was going to go bankroll Israel when assumed position, and since day one has continued to spout Neocon and uniparty talking. So, imagine my “shocked face” when I learned this chump compromised already so fast (I’m being sarcastic).
You did not need me to tell you this, but it’s so painfully obvious we have a uniparty and nothing has changed at all. It’s more of the same as usual. And yet Americans will continue to cope with the lies and hypocrisies, putting their faith in politicians to save them from all of life’s problems.
I mean seriously, meditate on this: the circus we call the government can’t even fund itself on a routine basis, with our money they steal from us, but do not flinch when it means doling out the dough to other countries to fund wars and spill blood.
Remember: this buffoon told Sean Hannity to “go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it — that’s my worldview.” Oh yes, we can certainly see your “worldview” on full display, you slimy crook!

Johnson is just another corrupt, lying neocon, that is buddie-buddie with his crooked partner Netanyahu and crew; that wants to bankroll other countries and wars, to enrich the lives of the military industrial complex, but does not want provide any real help to people here at home.
Like always, so many people get suckered in when politicians wave around or simply speak of a Bible, and then everyone gets all jelly for these people. I mean, if you have no more discernment and perception than that then I really don’t know what to say. I am certainly no fan of this guy, but once again comedian George Carlin said it best: “Politicians have traditionally hidden by three things: the flag, the Bible, and children.”
Seriously, did you think that the war party in D.C. that has long since been co-opted by evil, slimy, corrupt warmongers, would hand select someone that would stymie their operations? Think people, think!
The corruption and egregious duplicity on display is not surprising really; but do you not find both comical and yet disgusting, that we, apparently, have to keep raising the debt ceiling and “borrowing” trillions into the now, and keep averting government shutdowns by continuously funding the Treasury just to keep the lights on; and while everything is insanely inflated, everything costs so much as our dollars keep buying less; and homelessness continues to mount, small business and the middle class becomes a fable, and so on – Republicans and Democrats do not hesitate to fund and start every war imaginable without second guessing?
Expect more of the same with Johnson, nothing will change.

I don’t know how any person of integrity would want ANY government position these days. It’s akin to being called a rapist or pedophile.
N. America is being flushed down the toilet by design; God’s judgment for all the babies that have been flushed down the toilet or used in various products we use. It’s also judgment for turning our collective back on God and expelling Him to bring in Allah. God is also judging for all the innocent lives that have been taken by the hands of the USA in other countries.
