“We urge against any escalation,” the Secretary of Defense said in a statement.

The United States has continued to launch a number of airstrikes against targets in Syria in which the Department of Defense claims are backed by Iran.

Since the war in Gaza broke out, several weeks ago the Pentagon claimed that one of their bases in Syria was attacked by a drone strike, which has then led to the U.S. to return fire, blaming Iran for backing these coalition strikes. The U.S. has threatened Iran and others to not force an ‘escalation’ of this conflict, as the U.S. continues to ramp up their military activity in the Middle East once again.

On November 8th, the DoD explained a blog post: ‘U.S. military forces conducted a self-defense strike, on a facility in eastern Syria used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and affiliated groups. This strike was conducted by two F-15 aircraft against a weapons storage depot, said Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III in a statement yesterday.’

This precision, self-defense strike is a response to a series of attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria by IRGC-Quds force affiliates.

The United States is fully prepared to take further necessary measures to protect our people and our facilities. We urge against any escalation. U.S. personnel will continue to conduct counter-ISIS missions in Iraq and Syria.

Austin said

A senior defense official also said in a statement:

While our defensive measures have proven effective in countering unmanned aerial vehicle attacks on our personnel, we remain vigilant and concerned about the potential for escalation or bypassing these defenses. We have fortified our U.S. bases with additional Patriot batteries and increased defensive counter air patrols to further deter attacks and defend our forces.

In light of heightened tension stemming from the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, we have undertaken additional measures to communicate directly with Iran, Iran-aligned groups in Iraq, Lebanon and our regional partners. We aim to clarify that our military actions do not signal a change in our approach to the Israel-Hamas conflict, and we have no intentions of escalating conflict in the region. Our commitment to self-defense and the protection of U.S. personnel remains the same.

More recently, yesterday the Pentagon revealed that the U.S. carried out more strikes against Syrian targets. Austin said in a briefing:

U.S. military forces conducted precision strikes today on facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran-affiliated groups in response to continued attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria. The strikes were conducted against a training facility and a safe house near the cities of Abu Kamal and Mayadin, respectively.

The President has no higher priority than the safety of U.S. personnel, and he directed today’s action to make clear that the United States will defend itself, its personnel, and its interests.

Austin’s statement did not provide too many details; but according to a fresh New York Times article, ‘the strikes most likely killed or injured an undetermined number of people at the sites,’ according to officials the paper said.

The NYT also noted that the U.S. continues to escalate the situation while claiming they are not trying to provoke more of it.

The airstrikes appeared to mark an escalation by the Biden administration, which had previously conducted two sets of airstrikes that officials said were meant to deter Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and the militias it supports in Syria and Iraq. U.S. officials had said those strikes had caused no known casualties.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

I have continued to highlight the two-faced propaganda from the U.S., claiming they do not want “escalation” whilst ramping up the war machine, blaming Iran and other proxies with no evidence provided to substantiate the claims.

Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Proverbs 27:6

As far as I am concerned this is just more rhetoric to justify continuing the war machine, and bring us all the more closer towards World War III. Remember: as I covered in my detailed report that reveals that the U.S. and Israel have explicitly created and funded Hamas, and that the means of attacking Iran and other countries in the Middle East is part of a broader plan to topple the governments in that region. [7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).
